Lively atmosphere, lovely food, wide choice to suit all tastes and times of day. The greatest place to meet on Fish Hoek Beach with stunning views.
The Beachcomber Bistro is located on the beach, with a play park for the kids. The restaurant offers a large menu. The service was however average and the waitress could have been friendlier, more helpful and she should have explained the dishes to us.The fish was cooked perfectly and so were the few fries on the plate. The same can unfortunately not be said about the rice, which was undercooked and chewy. The dish included a little green salad and something that resembled coleslaw with a large amount finely minced (or processed) cabbage. The coleslaw was terrible, we could not eat it.Note to Owner: It would be advisable to inform customers of the 'coleslaw' and rice, we would not have chosen this option. Also, be more generous with the fries, my plate consisted of about 6 fries. I don't think that we will be back, there are better options in the vicinity.#we.love2travelI am glad to see that your seafood and french fries were cooked perfectly. I apologize that you found your rice to be under cooked and chewy. We would gladly have replaced your meal. Management and cooks, as a norm taste everything that is put out to make sure something like this does not happen. I put my hands up, as we unfortunately slipped up here. I did not get any such valuable feedback from the customers on that day, which shows how important it is for communication a.s.a.p. We care and will act immediately to serve and assist in anyway possible to ensure your happiness. Serving salads, with our meals, at no extra cost, is a great way to help boost your veggie intake.A healthy mixed green salad. Featuring a base of green lettuce, onion, green pepper, tomato and carrot, accompanied with coleslaw, that normally pleases both adults and kids. We serve a classic coleslaw salad with home made mayonnaise. Finely, sliced cabbage, carrots, a dash of pepper and creamy homemade mayonnaise. Some customers are only ever exposed to store bought mayonnaise, and find it a treat.

Pizza Khaya.Eish Pappa. On route to Simon's Town (Glen Cairn) there lies a colourful and very traditional looking Pizza venue.Menu included. This little pizza place has been through good time and bad time - with some good and some not so good neighbors. However its still standing and flourishing, that in its self is testament to the pizzas produced and the dedication of the owner. The menu is small - if going on what other establishments print out, but the originality is a work of art ie African art.Never heard of or seen an Eish Pizza (Mushrooms, spinach, onion, jalapeño, garlic and tomato), Daaris Salami (yip you guessed it - salami, olives and sun dried tomatoes) or even the Nyama Nyama Pizza (salami, borewors and ham) before. The Safari Pizza is a cracker - bacon, blue cheese and sweet chilli sauce.Originality at its bestIf you fear the beating of the drums and wish to create your own, you are more than welcome. The pizzas put out - conventional oven - are a decent size and not lacking in filling.Pricing is cheaper than the other franchised brands around and in all fairness are just as good, if not better.Situated next to The Viper Lounge one can enjoy a decent pizza and at the same time linger on a lager.Thanking YouMr G Marcus Gibbons

Hubby and I were travelling as part of a group and our scheduled lunch stop was Dixies Restaurant. Please keep in mind that this review is NOT based on the menu as a whole but rather what we were offered as a group meal.We were served hake and it was VERY underwhelming. For many of the people in our group the fish wasn't even cooked and in fact, one of our travellers ended up getting sick.I will say that the food that was being ordered off the menu at other tables looked good as it was being served but I can't say the same about our meal.NO, we wouldn't go back.We are terribly sorry to hear of your experience at Dixies. Please could you provide us with the date that you visited Dixies so that we can do an internal investigation. It is a pity, that this was not reported to management on the day so that we could have rectified this issue immediately. Once again, we apologise profusely.

My experience of pescado is that which i experienced at many such places...those that want to profit from the international tourist making their rounds in our country. South africans....the ordinary guy from around suffer the consequence which is..... that prices are ridiculous..food is average and portions small. They pescado included became complacent..in the last many years that I have eaten there...decor remained the same...food is nothing to write home about and service is average..there is nothing unique about the place that will cause even a local like myself to come there again..and again...
