Just arrived in Sibiu with my three kids and looking for a quick meal before bedtime. Actually, we were headed for another restaurant but hunger set in and the area around Piata Mata looked very nice so we decided for the one thing that never goes wrong: Italian food. This combined restaurant and bar suited the purpose. We found a table outside and the waiter was prompt and friendly (although not smiling that much).We ordered four different meals: a pizza, pasta carbonara, spaghetti bolognese, and a baked pasta dish with chicken. The food was actually quite good. The pizza crust was thin and crusty. The pasta was cooked al dente. The tomato cream sauce was tasty and creamy as is should be. And the meals were hot! That is a very good thing!The service was, unfortunately not as could be desired. We did not receive the meals at the same time. Hopefully, that was just a one time incident, but it is to be expected that the meals are served at the same time. Furthermore, I am not particularly fond of waiters starting to clean out the table before all guests are done eating. The prizes are decent although we do not have many prior restaurant visits to compare with, but it seemed decent and especially the good food taken in to consideration.

Upon recommendation, I decided to pay a visit on a Saturday evening to taste some authentic Italian cuisine. I was going for the pizza, but in the end switched to "catch of the day" turbot on the grill. Sounds good, right? It does, but the happy times stopped right there. The fish was cooked altogether with organs and the taste and smell changed accordingly. Awful, just awful. But what really bothered me was the staff and the service. They were literally starring at you and your plate as if you were having a time limit, or you were just about to start a robbery or something. I have never in my life felt weirder in a restaurant. Clients were weird to say the least, we really felt like we were trapped in a parallel world. I've had bad experiences before, but this goes right to the very top!

This is predominantly Italian food with a Romanian twist. It also has probably the best pizza and pasta in Sibiu! It does, also, serve traditional Romanian dishes with its only little spin!

Union is an unpretentious local restaurant serving pizza, pasta and meat dishes. We had some great conversation with our waiter about current affairs. He has spent lots of time in America so spoke very good English. I ordered a pizza, which was unspectacular, but fine and filling. I liked the internal decor of the place - see my photos.

We were on the move in Sibiu and spotted this gem tucked away in the corner of the square. The waitresses and chef were so welcoming and helpful. We were shown to a seating area downstairs and within the blink of an eye supplied with our chosen dish....it was wonderful. Great price, great place and fantastic food! Thanks so much...

Been here Saturday night with my wife and 4 of our friends. The place is relatively in the centre part of the city, easy to find. First impression was nice even dough as soon as you enter a smell of foodnhits you beacose of the open kitchen. the waiter sat us down. After 10 minutes he came back for the order. I want to mention that the restaurant was full, and for the duration of the dinner I saw only 2 waiters. this is outrageous, the owners in Romania are thinking only about money. Please stop exploiting people like this. Even dough the conditions were tough, the waiter was prompt, nice and professional. He came back with the drinks order fast. The food looked nice. The pizzas were big and tasty. I had a sea food platter wich you can see in the picture. it was tasty but for the price, it seemed a little bit poor. It's just a mix of sea food that you can find in thou local supermarket. We could say that we enjoyed our food and service, all and all it was a nice experience. Before I forget. They also need to be more strict with people smoking. Smoking it's not permitted indoors in Romania. Someone of the guest cheet by using vaporizers or regular cigarets with some kind of filters. It's very unpleasant and disrespectful for the non smoking people in the restaurant. The waiters or the owners should do something about it, invite these people outside.

Was the only bar open at 12 o'clock after we came from our dinner,and it was written that is open until 3 o'clock in the morning,so in the winter time is very nice.Nice music and good prices for the drinks.Nice staff.

We had good service, and low prices. nice location, sitting and watching people go by. Food quality was good, although quite small portions.The restrooms should be kept more clean.One of my pleasant lunches in Sibiu.

Yesterday we went 6 persons, including a 4 years old child to have dinner at Max. We arrived at 5:30pm there and we ordered quickly because we were very hungry. We were announced that the person who made pizza, will arrive in 20 minutes, so our order will last 30 minutes, we will get our food at 6:30pm. At 6:30 pm the waiter came and told us that the cook didnât arrived after an hour late. We waited another 15 minutes and we left.So at almost 7 pm we left the restaurant hungry and with a child asking for pizza, crying. The experience was horrible for the second time!! We usually go there at least once a week but this was our last time!Gentile cliente, ci dispiace dell'accaduto, ma la colpa e' esclusiva del cameriere in quanto le ha dato informazioni sbagliate. Il programma della nostra pizza, che e' la migliore della citta, non e' fissa alle ore 18. Il pizzaiolo arriva tra le 18 e le 19 perché ha una pausa pomeridiana che varia dall'ora in cui parte !
