Unusually, Francoâs doesnât charge corkage on the first bottle of wine you bring. Isnât that nice! This cosy restaurant has good food at plain prices, a lovely homely atmosphere, no pretentions and pleasant, ordinary, unfussy South African service. Nothing special, just a hearty enjoyable meal in lovely company at a reasonable price. What more could you want.

Was hoping for gluten free / seafood pasta. Hardly any seafood and pasta was sticking together. Sauce had no taste. Ordered a SPECIAL, But it had 1 clam and 2 pieces of chorizo !!! Very underwhelming. Moses was however an outstanding waiter. Chef needs some attention Good day Fakir, thank you very much for giving us feedback on your latest experience at Pomodoro. I am really sorry you did not enjoy your meal or, more specifically, the two dishes you mentioned. I cannot comment on the scoglio pasta as I was not here but what I can say is that we would never serve a risotto (the special you had) with only one scallop (not clams as you mentioned in your review) and two pieces of Chorizo. Do you honestly believe that we would survive over 13 years if we did serve dishes like that? I am afraid that your statement invalidates your review as it is misleading and inaccurate. We are a good traditional Italian restaurant. We use only fresh, top quality ingredients which we handle with care to produce delicately flavored dishes as you would have them in Italy. If this is not what you expected then you would have been disappointed. It's simply a question of taste and habits.I do wish you lots of flavorful meals for the rest of the year and the one to come. I walked around the Firs looking in at all the restaurants and I immediately noticed the alert, interactive watrons and a lovely ambiance.I'm glad I chose to eat at Doppios Zero, the staff are friendly, helpful and assertive, When you ask for advice, they give it boldly- KUDOS!they know their menu and they keep their eye on you without being intrusive- KUDOS!Maybe many others also offer excellent food, but its the experience overall that counts in points.My pasta dish was very hot, on a hot plate, as pasta must be and the advice on choice from my watron Collen, was 100% spot on.I could see most patrons were also really enjoying the evening- the food, service, company- ambiance.

Tasty breakfast very well prepared, excellent service, good coffee (will ask for extra large cup next time). Definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended- but be sure to get there early. It is a smallish venue, and popular. Creamy mushrooms - to die for!

A cold and rainy night in Johannesburg? Easily rectified by a visit to the local Italian restaurant in Craighall, Pronto, for some hearty and delicious pasta. This firm favourite deserves its place as one of our go-to restaurants. Consistent quality and excellent service explain the full tables every night. We chose Linguine; Dolce Latte for him, and chicken with spinach, rocket and pine nuts for me. Both were creamy, flavorful and delicious. A ricotta salad completed the feast. A most enjoyable evening, delicious dinner and great service. Hey there. A huge thank you for your beautiful review and patronage. First time visit to an unpretentious Bistro and Deli in Craighall. Top notch food, excellent service and relaxed atmosphere makes ensures that we will return soon! My wife had the prawns and said that they were amongst the best she had tasted. Our guest had Scottish Salmon which foo was excellent. I had a bacon cheeseburger with fries which was very good, the restaurant has a wide restaurant and buzz. Highly recommended- we will return soon!

We went to a show on Saturday and wanted a meal in Monte Casino after checking out TripAdvisor who rated at 4.5 stars. Menu choice was disappointing, limited selection to choose from especially the pasta / pizza options. One of our group ordered Calamari but they could offer rice as a starch, only fries or mash potatoes. I requested an alcohol free beer they had no stock. Ordered water instead and the waitron brought a 750ml bottle for a single person. Service was slow and we had to ask for the bill to get to our show in time. Would I recommend this to other diners, unlikely ! The only attraction for a quick fast food type meal is the location.
