Service was very spotty. Waiter uninspired and not at all helpful to the two gluten free diners at our table. The ravioli and the pizza I shared with my friend weâre ok (ravioli lacked flavor) but the greatest disappointment was that both dishes were barely warm. The pizza had sat for so long that it was soggy. Prices seem high for the quality, presentation and service.

Ate here because it was close to my B&B. Almost empty when I arrived, but not much interest from the waiter. No bread, had to ask to be brought salt & pepper (what's the name of this place?) Food was good, but nothing exceptional

My husband and I discovered this great restaurant while visiting San Jose, Costa Rica. The pizza, calzones,spaghetti and the salads where all so delicious. Everything they served was freshly made and beautifully presented.The staff was excellent and the prices were reasonable. We had dinner there four nights in a row and if I lived in San Jose I would frequent this wonderful restaurant often.

Lo Spago was a good authentic Italian Restaurant and since that is my favourite it was no surprise I would be a little more critical of the food, the wine and the desserts. We were greeted by friendly staff, sat immediately and able to order some good Chianti. The pasta choice were plentiful and the wait staff were more than willing to explain whatever you needed them to. We got our meals and were feeling pretty good about our choices when I saw something that made me so jealous. The people at the next table had order pasta in a cheese cream sauce. No big deal right? Wrong, the staff had brought over a side table upon which sat a full round of Parmigiano cheese, and in one hand he held a torch. He was mixing something up (I assume some cream), and scraping cheese off as he melted it from the middle of what can only be called a giant cheese bowl. Yes, I said it, he was mixing the sauce up right in the Parmigiano cheese itself. Then he tosses in the pasta and mixes it around as well. He swirls and mixes and then finally pulls it out and plates it. My mouth is watering just thinking of it, still do not know what it was called but I want to try it. Okay, so for dessert, they did not have my favourite Bachio Negro, but they did have Tartufo which was almost as good and excellent as far as desserts go. I would highly recommend this restaurant for the Italian food, the atmosphere and the desserts.

It is hard to believe that this kind of average looking restaurant in a big shopping mall next to a Chilis is the top rated restaurant in Heridia. The food is OK, service is OK, the beer selection is good and the parking options are excellent. Still I was disappointed after walking across town based on reviews to find something that would fit right into a suburban strip mall in middle america

Very good Italian food, dishes are hearty, the menu diverse, the service is excellent and the prices are average. You canât go wrong with any pasta dishes , the Focacia is excellent.No hesitation in recommending this quaint, cozy place in the heart of San Jose.Parking could be a problem but they will make it work.Excellent spot for business lunches!Thank you very much for appreciating our work and suggesting the travelers to visit us!
