Delicious fresh pizza. The pizza kisses are amazing but share them between 2 or 3 people!The restaurant is a bit too brightly lit in my opinion and can be noisy (it's very popular!), but its definitely my favourite restaurant in the area.

If you are into taking the road less traveled - e.g. Route SS 14 between Venice and Trieste (as opposed to the autostrade), this restaurant is the perfect lunch spot. While I had the special of the day, Spaghetti Vongole (incredible), my son had the diavolo pizza which was perfect: Thin, crispy crust and cooked to perfection. The only down note - the frito mixto which my wife expected to be a seafood salad but instead was a strange assortment of seafood covered in rich and creamy sauces too heavy to let any flavor thru. Oh well. Sometimes that is what you get when you eat local. BTW this is locals spot as not a lick of English was to be heard. (Don't let it deter you.)

Popped in by necessity. But what a nice find. Limited list of seasonal dishes plus a long list of pastas. No wine list but house wine at 4 euro for a mezzo turned out to be excellent (a Collio doc)

Small restaurant in typical Italian style. About 24 seats in restaurant area and nearly the same in bar area. Fantastic big pizza for very low price. Other food also good and cheap. Friendly staff.

Pizza buona, hanno mantenuto nel menù i baci di pizza per i quali era famosa la vecchia pizzeria . Buone proposte anche in più come la serata paella. La proprietaria simpatica e gentile , si è seduta con noi e ci ha offerto il limoncello , ma i camerieri davvero troppo troppo pressanti , ogni 2 minuti a chiedere come va o se volevamo altro, ma seriamente ogni 2 minuti . Non puoi ogni boccone dire che va tutto bene , magari un po' meno .

Friendly helpful staff even though we speak no Italian. Food was delicious in both occasions- kids enjoyed their pizza so much the first time we had to have a second visit.

Anche ieri sera abbiamo ordinato le pizze da asporto. In orario. Ben preparate. Ingredienti buoni. Decisamente ben lievitare e digerita benissimo. Prezzi adeguati. Ampia scelta e disponibili anche per varianti senza aggiunte di prezzo ovvero riportando gli ingredienti a prezzi di pizze simili. Bravi.

I have visited Alfonso's twice in the last month with work colleagues.On each occasion the staff have been welcoming and friendly, the service excellent and the food good.On my first visit I had one of their many excellent pizzas, on my second I tried the beef fillet in a porcini sauce. Both were excellent but I would caution that I wasn't asked how I wanted the beef cooking and it was on the rare side. Great for me but not for everyone so if you like it more cooked then remember to ask for it "bene cotto".I wouldn't recommend the mixed side salad which is a tad uninspired.Alfonso's is quite large and can lack in ambience, although when full of chattering locals it does have a certain family feel. Also having TV in the restaurant isn't something I would usually want although visiting as I did during the World Cup football it proved quite handy.For me the food and the great service gives it the edge over other restaurants in town and it is also very good value compared with others as well.

Dinner with friends. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. Attentive as well. Beer was good and cold. The steak with peppercorn sauce was delicious. Tiramisu was wonderful. Would definitely dine here again.

Visited La Lanterna with a work colleague after reading your recommendation. He had been before and been put off going by slow service so I had to persuade him.On this night service was slow but not terrible but that said there really weren't that many tables occupied.I had a pizza topped with ham, olives and salami picante which was quite delicious.My colleague had very large super prawns on a bed of spaghetti as a starter which he said were tasty but they did seem very, very fishy smelling. This was followed by tagliata di roast beef on a bed of rocket. That looked and tasted very good.Overall service on this night wasn't brilliant so I would worry about going again if it was very full. Food was good but certainly not exceptional.I think La Lanterna definitely benefits from a lack of good competition to hit the number one spot in San Giorgio
