We ordered the big dish for a family and even though it arrived quickly at our table it soon became evident why speed was of the essence. Slim toppings and almost non existent cheese on the pie. When I asked the owner/maker about the lack of cheese he said that all pizzas are made using the same recipe and quantities, something that truly means that I will avoid this place for as long as I can. I might be a high class pizza eater, but having lived in New York City for over a decade, I know what good pizza should be like. And this De Leone pizza is not, simply put.

This was the best pizza we have had in ages and the quality and speed as well as value for money made the meal even more delicious! The staff and owner are all such fun and the few tables inside and out are clean and comfortable. Its super casual so don't expect fine dining
Where to eat Asian food in Safed: The Best Restaurants and Bars
Walk up Jerusalem street from the bus station to where Bar Yohai street branches off on the right down to the Old city. The first of the row of shops beyond the junction is Pizza Talia (next to Felafel Yitzhak) .(Coming the other way from the midrehov you pass Meginei Tzfat street on your left, then it's the last of the small row of shops). It is so tiny you might miss it! But it is worth looking for. Other pizzerias in Tzfat serve soggy dough smeared with dubious red goop and yellow cheese (or cheese substitute at worst) and they charge for extras like tinned olives, sweet corn or onions. Pizza Talia is different. The dough is thin and crisp, with a crackly edge shining with egg and sprinkled with sesame seeds, and on top are chunky strips of fresh, crisp, yummy vegetables - aubergines (wow!) sweet peppers, onions and real pieces of tomato, covered in real cheese. They come as little individual pizzas - you can pick whichever one you fancy - or twin or family size. All of them are baked in the owner's own metal version of a brick tabun. As a local I know these are the best pizzas in Tzfat (well, I haven't tried them all...) Kashrut certificate from the chief rabbi of Tzfat (who is a neighbour). last time i was there he told me he's going to start with sambuseq, but i haven't tried these yet.
