Lovely restaurant which has been fully restored to fine modern dining recently. We heard they were serving the local special dish "Poule au Pot" which was much favoured by Henri IV. King Henri had many connections in the local area. His Chateau in in nearby Nerac, There is his mill in Barbaste and there are many stories about his amorous adventures in the area. Henri said he enjoyed this dish and wanted all his people to have it every Sunday, So the legend goes.... The Sept Princes had such an evening and we are very pleased to have attend. Service was exceptional, dining room very pleasant. The famous dish tasted a lot better than it looks on my photo ! Ample parking available and this special dinner was just â¬12.

Based on others' recommendations, we went for lunch and had four different kinds of pizza. All were excellent. We were lucky to get a table as others were turned away after us, so I would highly recommend making a reservation. One plus is that sitting outside is very pleasant as there is an awning that covers every table!

The owner of our Chambre d'Hote recommended this restaurant and I have never had a French person recommend a non-French restaurant before. It was easy to find, across from the church, and it didn't look fancy, with a simple pizzeria sign out front. The owners were a husband and wife team and they were very busy all evening with take out pizza and eat in diners. We had a veal Parma and pasta carbonara and both were incredibly good. The owners were having fun and it was a really positive surprise, for a small French village restaurant.

Almost don't want to attract any more attention to this little gem as it't getting harder to get a table there, but this low-key and small pizzeria is always a delight to eat at. The pizzas are truly home, stone baked and are always delicious. The pasta is really very good. The prizes are superb e.g. a pizza with scallops and so on for under 10 euros. They do a child's pizza for a mere 4 euros. The puddings are extra special. The service is 'quaint' as it's a husband and wife team (he cooks, she serves) so it can sometimes be slow but as long as you go and relax about it all, it's no problem. Enjoy a carafe of local wine as you take in the Gascon woodwork and eclectic art on the walls. The red gingham table cloths and candles and flowers give the place a welcoming and loved feel.
