Booked and arrived for 6pm Saturday. Queued right out the door, with only one person (looked like the manager) checking in and showing you to your table. Eventually got to the desk, where the same manager found it more important to play with a young child than to check us in., or tend to the ever growing queue. The daft thing is, there were a good number of empty tables that could have had bums on seats at least getting underway. The food...I had Minestrone Soup, underheated and weak in flavour, followed by a fantastic chicken thighs dish , which really was special. They know how busy a Saturday night is going to be on Payday Weekend, and really should get their act together and staff the place properly. Itâs top prices on a Saturday, so should be top performance. Not this time..Dear Robert,Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your review. We are very sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the time you had to queue. Your feedback has been passed on to the restaurant Manager, who will for sure take you comments on board in order to improve the service in the future. Once again, thank you for bringing this to our attention and we hope to see you again. Best regards,Tony Macaroni Group

Had a lovely meal here on friday. Didnt need to wait long, all fresh and very warm. Do have a gluten free menu to look at .even had gf garlic bread. Restaurant on the small side but didnt feel crampt. I would definitely return. My only wee moan is that a pint of lemonade with a dash of lime was nearly the same price as a pint of beer . Meal prices good tho. 2 meals , 2 lots of garlic bread a pint of beer and the lemonade and lime just under £40.Thank you for your lovely review. We look forward to welcoming you back

Was here on Friday for lunch with a friend for a catch up. I started with the pate to start which more like a parfait. Absolutely lovely. My main was the always excellent sea bass on risotto. Fresh, well cooked and delicious. Service is always good and the girl serving us was no exception. Iâll be back soon.

They fry in veg oil, and a portion of chip is £2.40. They have a takeout and sit in restaurant upstairs. See menu for full prices. My chips were nice. There is a picnic area outside with table and benches where you can also sit and enjoy Your food.

Bar Varia is a family friendly, Independent, Bavarian themed Restaurant and Bier Halle. Created by award winning designers and boasting panoramic views of Scotland's only indoor, real snow ski slope; Bar Varia is a unique destination. We offer a wide rang
Disappointing visit here. The staff were friendly but there were a lot of dirty tables and it took ages for the food to come out (despite the place being mostly empty). The food was fine, it was okay but nothing special. When I tried to order potato salad (comes with pretty much everything you eat in Bavaria), he said they didn't do it any more as nobody ever ordered it, yet it's still there on the menu. None of the food looked anything like the glossy photos on this Trip Advisor page. It's not really Bavarian - they have wurst and one schnitzel but that's it, everything else is burgers or pizza. And the beer choice wasn't brilliant either - for Helles, they had Paulaner on tap or Augustiner in bottles. Hardly a great selection for a place that advertises a "German Beer List". We took my Bavarian brother-in-law hoping it would be fun, but I was a wee bit embarrassed. Watching the ski slope is fun though. If you're after anything remotely authentically German, I'd stick with the Bier Halle or the Brau Haus in the city centre, they're a bit closer to the mark. I definitely wouldn't make the trip to Braehead just to come back here.
