This is a charming little restaurant. The staff are very welcoming but not overbearing.The food is fantastic and, like the drinks, is excellent value for money.A great dining experience and we will lost definitely return.

Dodds was recommended by our accommodation and did not disappoint. We were made very welcome and the staff were attentive and helpful. There is plenty of choice on the menu - I thoroughly enjoyed the grilled goats cheese (I had never imagined what a delight goats cheese can be when paired with caramelised pear) and home made potato gnocchi (which our waiter advised was his favourite and it quickly became mine too!). My husband thoroughly enjoyed his garlic bread and pizza - which was spicy and well flavoured. Unfortunately we were so full that we didn't have space for a pudding - perhaps next time!

Love the concept of this restaurant/theatre. The restaurant is well appointed and very pleasant surroundings. My meal was served on a very nice plate and I could see other meals served on a variety of other plates but I also saw that some meals were served on wooden boards - something I hate - but that's a personal choice I suppose. But with such a variety of plates it was hard to understand why serve on rather shabbily looking wooden boards.We finished off our meal with an ice cream sundae and I am afraid I found it rather overpriced for something that was ordinary at luxury prices.Staff were very welcoming, efficient and helpful. I have rated the restaurant average but it is somewhat unique and I would not want to deter people from visiting -but ask for a proper plate!Hi, thanks for your review.I am sorry you do not like wooden plates. It is very much a personal choice i guess and we have never had any feedback like yours. We were visiting Keswick for the day and decided to try the food here. The weather was rather wet, so we were glad to go somewhere cosy and inviting. The food was amazing, we tried the pizza and tapas menus. All the food was cooked well and really tasty. The staff were friendly and helpful too. We were impressed that the chef cooked all the food in a small area behind the bar and we didn't have to wait long for it to arrive either. There was a bookshelf that had stories and colouring books/stickers to keep our three year old entertained too. Overall, a fantastic dinner and we hope to be back again soon. Thanks again.Thanks Jonny for such a nice review :) Weâre so glad you found cozy comfort in our small cafe bar.....It even amazes me sometimes what they do in that kitchen (if you can call it that ) They really do send out some stunning dishes! & itâs just what you need on a wet & windy day in the lakes.....beer, board games & good food!
