We were in Idar-Oberstein for one month during a writing residency, and felt lucky to be located near this great little place. We didn't use their home delivery service, because it was easy for us to walk to our apartment with our favorite pizza: #72 Pizza Spinaci, with mushrooms and sweet peppers added. The family-owned place is no-frills and tiny, but puts out a lot of good food. Get to know the gracious, competent and truly wonderful people who run the place, and you'll want to come back for their company as well as the pizza. If you want a sit-down restaurant experience, you have other choices--but this place had the best pizza we found, and was a real part of our neighborhood experience in town.

Eines vor weg - wer aus 25 Sorten Pizza aussuchen und wer eine riesige Portion auf dem Teller (von dem eh meistens ein Teil übrig bleibt) haben will, wird hier nicht glücklich. Wer aber einen sehr zuvorkommenden Sercive und eine gute Auswahl an Fischgerichten sucht, dem können wir das Antichi Sapori empfehlen. Der Fisch meines Mannes wurde professionell am Tisch filetiert, mein Thunfischsteak war perfekt gegrillt und das gegrillte Gemüse fand ich lecker. Es gibt eine extra Weinkarte und wer sich nicht entscheiden kann, wird vom Chef beraten. Was die Preise betrifft, fanden wir diese angemessen, Fischgerichte sind nirgends für lau zu haben und auch die Preise für Vorspeisen und das Dolce fanden wir ok. Klar kommt die Menükarte billig und etwas unsortiert daher, hier sollte die Optik mehr den ausgefallenen Gerichten angepasst werden. Es war unser erster Besuch - und unser Fazit - wir haben sehr gut gegessen, waren mit der Weinauswahl zufrieden und wurden vom Chef als gern gesehene Gäste behandelt. Wir werden wieder kommen und sehen ....

Italian restaurant which also does a few assorted German style schnitzels. Inside is typically old fashioned German decor but comfortable enough. I ate here a number of times and the food was good overall and good value. I was fortunate to experience a warm sunny evening here so sat in their outside area in the central square enjoying a beer and pizza unfortunately you have to share this area with the numerous, stinking smokers! Overall a good average Italian restaurant, worth a visit.

Waren mittags dort und haben hinterm Haus in einem schönen, groÃen Zelt gegessen. Wegen des warmen Wetters haben wir nur Salat gegessen. Diese waren gut.

not a lot open in off season and we ended up in this little italian near the Idar-Oberstein museum for dinner. Pizza was good and the home made pasta was fabulous. Large portions. Would recommend highly.

IF you want famous Idar-Obersteiner Spiessbraten, you can get a great one here.... all varieties of meats: pork, beef, chicken, duck..... Served with a nice salad and a choice of potatoes, to include baked potatoes.... They also offer some nice specials.... the last time I went I had a wonderful salad with skewers of wonderfully seasoned shrimp! It was fabulous!!! The owners are "on the ground" and are very pleasant. The wait staff is wonderful! they have a fabulous "bier garten"----a wonderful place to enjoy a meal outdoors. Nicely decorated!!!

This is a historical restaurant, that used to have a picture showing that it was used by the 92nd Div as headquarters during the end of the second world war. Now the Italian food is just plain delicious, plus the ambiance is outstanding.

Antonio emigrated from Italy and started this restaurant in a village outside of Birkenfeld, Germnay. The village of Ellenberg over looks Birkenfeld, hense the name Bella Vista, but not only is the view nice, but the food is very good Italian. When your done eating Antonio will set a bottle of Grappa or Cognac on the table or an after dinner drink. This is a great place to eat and socialize.
