First of all this is Italian -American pizza shack the type that first started to be popular during the 1950's and 60's. It was started by an Italian grandmother called Mary who opened her first "shack" near a thermal water area in Sonoma. The large pizza is generous it would feed four or more, there were 10 family members in our group so we had a variety of items. Everyone started with a generous Mary's salad, greens piled with red onions, half a hard boiled egg, salami, olives and more, all dressing was served on the side...it was the small salad but for a lot of people it would have been a meal. One diner had the minestrone soup and it was hearty and full of flavor. Two diners had pasta , one a half portion of pesto and another a tortellini. We had a vegetarian pizza with sausage ( an oxymoron) covered in peppers, olives, mushrooms and Italian sausage and the Neopoletano covered with chopped fresh tomatoes, shredded basil and fresh mozzarella and pleasantly redolent of garlic. Even with ten people there was pizza to take home. This is a family style restaurant in a strip mall, you go to enjoy food with friends and family. Service was friendly and accommodating , no one rushed us as the conversation swirled over a leisurely lunch.
The food is not very good but my daughter likes it and the prices are great. I won't eat it myself and try not to go too often because there are healthier choices out there.
The interior of this place reminded me of when I was a kid and the family would head to RTP as a special treat. Which would be terrific except I'm 50 and I don't think they've updated (or cleaned?) the interior since my childhood in the '70s. It's the kind of place where you don't want to touch anything because you know it will be sticky. The majority of their business must be delivery because after stopping by for take-out and waiting 20 minutes in this throwback of a place, I realized that actually eating there would ruin your appetite. That said, the good news is that the pizza came out as ordered (no olives, yuck!), hot, and tasted just like the Round Table Pizzas you get any any of their franchises. RTP definitely has a distinct flavor and if you're craving it in Novato this is the place to go. Just be sure to plan on eating it elsewhere.
I was very excited to see a new Mountain Mike's going in at a vacant restaurant space here in Novato. There were others close by which were always very good, but after trying this location for the first time I don't think I'll be back. While the topping were generous and appealing, the flavor just was not up to the chains normal standards and the "extra large" was unfortunately not cooked in the center, making it basically inedible. We didn't even save the leftovers as it was that bad. I think they might have been trying to cook too many pizzas in the oven at one time, as it was a Friday night and the restaurant was quite busy with in house diners and many "take out" orders as well. Interior was quite nice with a full bar, but doesn't make up for a really bad pizza at almost $40 with a tip.
I've had just about every pizza from every pizzeria in Marin.Having actually been born here in Marin and being 100% Italian, you can believe me when I tell you, Stefano's is the best. I've tried them all! Stefano's uses the freshest ingredients and does not skimp with the toppings. Their pieces of Italian sausage are huge! It is a truly delicious pizza!
Very good food! We got there early so they weren't entirely setup for the day. Surprised that they didn't have a liquor license yet and since we went there with a

Ghiringhelli's offers a great menu of tasty pizza combinations, but many other American dishes are offered and carefully prepared as well. Lots of beers on tap line a bar filled with sports-playing flat screens, and the dining area is a fun place to relax and eat as well.

We had been driving for hours and needed a quick lunch, imagine my surprise when I found a real pizza on the left coast. This appears to be a chain, but the pizza is quite good, the crust is thin and crunchy and the sauce and cheese were not over done. We're glad you stumbled upon us, John, and that you liked our pizza so much! Thanks for taking the time to write this review to let us know. If you happen to make it back to the area, we'd love to have you in. Safe travels,Gina B., Owner

The thin crust, wood fired pizza is great! Any combination! We were with a group, and several different pizzas were ordered. The Sausage & Pepperoni with Mushroom, and the Prosciutto with fresh mozzarella and arugula were the standouts. The burratta appetizer with red pepper pesto and arugula and toasted bread was outstanding. The only sour note was the special of the day, petrale sole, which was covered in just too many incredients, which overwhelmed the delicate fish. Pizzas, apps and salads are the stars here! Service was friendly and prompt, and all around positive experience.
