Once a shipbuilding city, Newcastle's flashier claim to fame is nightlife. Throw in a heap of premium restaurants serving foods from all over the world and it's no wonder young partiers choose to blow their hard-earned (or not-so-hard-earned) cash in Newcastle. While these amenities are certainly a draw for the hipsters and culture-seekers, it's the locals that make Newcastle a truly special place to visit. "Geordies," as they are often called, embody the pride, industriousness and resilient spirit of their city.

Ciao *hello* Our popular North East Italian chain of restaurants have been serving up pizza and pasta to customers in Gosforth and Washington since May 2016. San Lorenzo Gosforth is located within the centre of Gosforth high street, offering an authentic
Decided to try San Lorenzo & we were greeted . Menu quite big . My fiancé has to have gluten free & the menu isnât clear but on the small print it does state it & charges more .When we questioned it the waitress just kept saying itâs more & wasnât very professional at all . She then came over & slammed a big can of tomatoes on the table . She didnât say anything so I asked the waiter & he said oh it for the garlic bread to stand it on .We decided to go for a garlic bread starter to share & have to agree with comments the crust is far too overcooked & you canât even cut through it with a pizza cutter . I had the lasagne & it was not nice & it had too much tomato purée in & if a Italian canât get a lasagne right thereâs something wrong . My fiancé had a pizza again too crusty . We had a bottle of Pinot Grigio & the bill came to £50.10 .We were very disappointed . They asked how it was & we said just ok , my fiancé only ate 2 slices of pizza . We wonât be back much better places to eat . Dear Foodsquad65, For the avoidance of any doubt, we not only offer Gluten Free versions of our pizzas & pastas which is clearly marked on our menus along with the extra charge for Gluten Free pizza bases. The reason we charge is that the Gluten Free bases cost approx 5 times as much as our regular bases and unlike our regular pizza dough which we make fresh every day we need to buy in these products as we do not have a controlled environment where they could be produced. We are extremely confident that had your garlic bread been made with our own dough you would have been fully satisfied, regrettably Gluten Free products have a different texture and are not able to match the texture of fresh dough, something we are surprised you are not fully aware of. It appears that your main issue being that we charged extra for the GF bases, something you were extremely vocal about!,

We always thoroughly enjoy our meal at Francesca's. Worth standing in the queue!!! Typically Italian staff. Very attentive and respectful to older ones. I think the pictures on trip advisor don't do the meals justice although all of the positive reviews do!!! Please pay a visit and you will love it!!!

Fast service and buzzing place, staff look after you and the Sunday lunch does exactly what it says on the box - perhaps could have been a bit more generous with the chicken! Otherwise well presented well run and tasty.Wheelchair friendly which must have cost them some space so grateful for that.

Was looking for an alternative to the usual Italian haunts and thought it might be worth giving Uno's Trattoria a try. Cosy surroundings, great food (large portions) and pleasant staff. Certainly recommend the Stromboli starter and Mafiosa main course, very tasty and reasonable prices. Will definitely return.

Service attentive, genuine local staff, food excellent (I haven't had better restaurant lasagne anywhere else) good value, unpretentious, clean, family friendly if a little noisy when we visited (5:30 on last Friday of the school hols), Its a lunchtime to early evening sort of place, not late eats. PROPER PIZZA OVEN, and BYOB policy (wine glasses provided) helps keep the bill low. (local land covenants prohibit alcohol on-sales) What is not to like? Three courses on a Friday evening for four, soft drinks for driver, table water and use of wineglasses £46:00. (Plus the bottle of wine bought at the supermarket on the way!) And tasty. Good veggie options too. Snobs will hate it (and do!), decent folk will appreciate it (and do!) and foodies should give it a try. Will go again.Hi Francis,Thanks for the lovely review! We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your recent dining experience here with us! We look forward to seeing you again soon. Many Thanks Achellos :)

Discover our exciting Mediterranean wine bar and restaurant, Fuego. Enjoy Mediterranean inspired tapas, charcuterie and hand-stretched pizzas. Walk-ins are welcome and a limited number of tables are available to book in advance.
We've been eating in Fuego now since it opened, however ashamed to say we've never tried their pizzas! Until recently... now it's our go-to-place for a good pizza (especially the bianco pizzas with béchamel sauce) that are so tasty with fresh & unusual ingredients. Try the mushroom with truffle oil, or tuna with manchego and black olives - you won't be disappointed. Great service from the staff and excellent wine choices.

Pizza Punks Artisan Wood Fired Pizza Inspired by our love of proper pizza and motivated by our drive to do something different, something unique. What would happen if customers could choose exactly what they want on a pizza without charging more, yes that
Went here last weekend, was absolutely amazing! We shared a pizza and some sides and we were so full afterwards! Freshly made pizza, we chose the cheeseburger pizza, wings, spicy sriracha slaw that was surprisingly good and not what we had expected, and some garlic bread. I wasnât too sure about the garlic bread, but everything else was delicious and we were so happy we stumbled on this place. Thank you! Hey!Thanks for your amazing review! Weâre buzzing to hear you enjoyed your food with us! Thatâs a winning combination of food right there! We are however sorry to hear you were unsure about our garlic bread!Weâre glad you guys stumbled upon our restaurant and had a great visit with us!See you again soon!Punks Out!!

Been so many times now and every time the food is amazing and very reasonably priced. A brilliant range of vegetarian and gluten free meals, which all my family and friends love. Two things seperate this place from everywhere else. Firstly the wheelchair access is fantastic, with easy access and a wonderful accessible toilet... but the best bit is the people who work there... always smiling, always happy to see you and will do anything to make you feel totally at home. Can't recommend this place enough... Thank you to the La Famiglia Team for being the best ever xx
