After a couple of hours exploring Todi, our family party of 9 settled on lunch at Le Cisterne - an excellent choice. The staff gave us a private room with wall frescoes and antique furnishings. The food was good, and the waiter was most helpful. We were touring around the Todi area on the very big holiday of ferragosto. It was lunchtime, we were hungry and panicking since restaurant after restaurant was closed for the holiday. Then we turned a corner and there was L'Angolo open for business. We didn't care how good it was. We completely lucked out because it was delicious. I had the ravioli with guanciale and walnuts. My wife had spaghetti caccio e pepe. Both were better than good. They were excellent. We also had a mixed salad with super fresh ingredients. The service was very warm and friendly.

We have visited Calvana with our children and there could be no better place. The view from the road is not so promising, but inside the yard it's really a charming place. There is a big, well maintained garden surrounded by a fence where children can play while parents enjoy the food. Quality of food is very good and prices are reasonable! Service was very friendly and professional! We will come again! Grazie!

This is kind of the default open-at-all-hours cafe for Todi. We rolled into town Sunday mid-afternoon and found this place, on the Fonte Sesia--to be the only place serving. The locals love the place and it's always full of people. The pizzas served are pretty good, but I wouldn't say they were memorable. Service is friendly and joking. Some English spoken but there was a lot of patience with our poor Italian.

We have a house in Collazzone and this restaurant is situated a couple of 100 meters from our house. Thus, we eat at Al Leone frequently. However, we do not eat there out of convenience, we eat there out of preference. It is a great restaurant with the best pizza around. They have a pizza oven in the locale and serve great Italian pizza with crispy, thin crust. You want your own pizza-composition? No problem- they will accommodate you. The owners are very nice people and the service is polite and friendly. They also serve nice, grilled chicken and good pasta. If you are in Umbria, close to Perugia, pay them a visit. Prices are also reasonable.

We've greatly enjoyed our visits to this family-run village restaurant just off the road between Fratta Todina and Marsciano - always a warm welcome, always terrific food. La Fonte has a good local following - we've always been the only foreign diners - and good atmosphere. It offers a substantial menu with a good variety of Umbrian dishes. Their bruschetta and the pizzas are delicious. But our favourite dish is the tagliatelle with truffles.

Rita, the cook, and Theresa, who served us, provided my wife and me with a truly wonderful lunchtime experience. All the food was fresh and very tasty. The attention to detail in the kitchen was very evident. Top quality food was matched with friendly and helpful service in a very pleasant atmosphere. We will return as soon as possible!!

A business colleague took our meeting and evening dinner here, and what a great place!!! Very friendly owner and staff, the food was amazing, and the location absolutely picture perfect... the actual building a beautiful converted farm house with old wood beams everywhere. I was told the hotel rooms are also excellent... very well recommended!!!

I have eaten "street food" pizza throughout Italy, and Dige's has the best! Any of their pizzas are not to be missed (plan to stay in Todi for a while so you can sample everything), and they also offer delicious chicken salad and "insalata di farro." Closed Wednesday; avoid disappointment by coming to eat at Dige's any other day of the week!

Marsciano is not a very touristy place, however there are a good number of agriturismos and villas in the surrounding area, especially the lovely hills to the west of the town. The owner of our agriturismo recommended this place as the best place to eat in town and we were not disappointed, going there twice the week we stayed locally up near Collelungo. It's a family run place and frequented principally by local people, though they must have a regular stream of foreign visitors in the summer as they have created an English menu and many of the staff speak very good English. The welcome and service was very friendly. The menu is appealing, with lots of Umbrian dishes done in an interesting way as well as staples from the grill and pizzas. I had the beef filet in sagrantino one night and the pigeon the other night, both of which were excellent, as well as great pasta dishes as primi. There are about 6-8 tables outside on a roadside terrace(pedestrianised street) which you might need to reserve ahead for, as well as lots of room inside. I'd definitely recommend a visit here!
