The municipality comprises the towns of Meise proper and Wolvertem (a deelgemeente), and, several smaller villages like Sint-Brixius-Rode, Oppem, Meusegem, Impde/Imde, Rossem, Westrode and quarters as Bouchout, Nerom and Slozen. As of January 1, 2006, Meise had a total population of 18,464. The total area is 34.82 km² which gives a population density of 530 inhabitants per km².

The restaurant is a physically appealing with good architectural lines. It is on a busy corner near grand place and st. Micheal & st Gudula Cathedral. It is a French Italian menu, but also in English. The waitress gave it her best shot to communicate, but spoke very little English. We chose two different dishes on the menu and were eventually told they were "done". The Caesar salad had very little lettuce or dressing. It did have a generous portion of chicken and several shrimps. It actually was quite good. The Mediterranean mix was supposed to have fish, but didn't. All the calamari and shrimp were fried without dipping sauce. When I asked for a sauce my options were ketchup and mustard. Other reviews said this is a family restaurant. We like to support family restaurants, so that was good to hear. However, on a busy Friday night there is only one chef and one waitress.

In and around Brussels there are many Belgian/Italian restaurants. Usually they serve average food, such as orginal Italian recipes âadaptedâ to the Belgian market. Very few âdareâ serving real Italian food, which anyway would not be appreciated by the locals.Il Casale is no exception. It serves decent antipasti and affettati (the Italian way) - but there isn't much cooking involved -, decent pizza and the usual array of main dishes that I call âItalian revisitedâ (a strange mix of Italian basics, with added ingredients to suit the Belgian taste for cream, sauces, butter, etc...) We visited a Saturday night, so it was full and we waited a very, very long time between antipasto and main. To be on the safe side I had antipasto and a pizza and I drank a good Grimbergen, but you can have that pretty much anywhere in Belgium.Since I do not appreciate much the Belgo/Italian cuisine, the only extra points in my rating are given for the decor and cleanliness of the restaurant. This one is rather new and clean, but certainly not sophisticated, with paper napkins and tablemats and spelling mistakes in the menu (pizzAria.. should be pizzEria in Italian).

I have never eaten in this place because it does not look very attractive to me. However the quality of the food is good so I recommend it for take-away (eat your pizzas in the nearby parc - botanical garden for exemple).They also have a good delivery service and you can order and pay online. Expect long waiting times however in the weekends as this place is quite popular. I recommend their plain pizza margarita.

I went to try it as reviews are good. Not impressed at all. Service is mediocre as waiters don't care about you. My table was next to the bar and the smell of drains was unpleasant. When I ask for the wifi code they took my phone to directly enter the password without asking if they could do so and of course without telling me the password. Food was mediocre. The calzone was cold inside and the dough was super thick Basically I won't came back

We live in Meise, but rarely go out to eat at a restaurant, but wanted to treat our nephew and niece to a pizza. The meal in itself was very good, all four pizzas were nice, well baked with a good topping and upon arrival we were greeted by the friendly owner.The only downpoint being his daughter's attitude when greeting other customers and during service, she was surly, we had to ask for bread & olives (in 2 goes) and she was obviously not very pleased at having people arrive so late (20:30 on a Friday night!!). A shame as her father and other members of staff were very kind. Maybe she was just having a bad day in the "office".But apart from that we would recommend and return, but maybe for take-away next time :-)
