It has a population of 22,911 (2011) and is the administrative headquarters of Harborough District Council. It sits on the Northamptonshire-Leicestershire border. The town was formerly at a crossroads for both road and rail; however the A6 now bypasses the town to the east and the A14 which carries east-west traffic is 6 miles (9.7 km) to the south. The town is served by East Midlands Trains with direct services to Leicester, Nottingham, Sheffield, Derby and St Pancras International. Rail services to Rugby and Peterborough ended in 1966.

Called in on a Friday evening while waiting for a friend. Decent modern decor, but the really comfy seats were reserved.....but no one sat in them in the hour we were there. Football was on so they turned the TV sound up and people were shouting over it, so it became impossible to talk.We had considered eating there but it wasn't the right atmosphere for that. Maybe lunchtimes would be OK to eat, but unless you are into sport avoid when there is something sporting on TV.People did order burgers but it seemed to take a while to come.Car park at the side reasonable size.

Unplanned lunchtime visit at short notice.Ordered a pizza and waiter came back to say they had run out of that one.Realised we were not talking home cooked food here but rather pre-prepared, in someway.Having said that the, second choice, pizza was alright.The waiter was friendly and the food was prompt.It was alright food at alright prices with good service., that was it really.

The restaurant was busy when e arrived, but we were shown to a table promptly with a friendly introduction. A nice atmosphere too. We were then abandoned and were literally about to leave when our waiter reappeared with apologies. Too few staff I think. After this our service was attentive from pretty much everyone - a genuine effort to make amends. So onto the food. I had the asparagus starter which was outstanding. My wife had the mixed salad which the manager agreed was poor and deleted it from the bill. We both had risottos, which were perfectly OK but I'd expected a creamier rice for this signature dish. As for drinks, both cocktails were fine - mandarin mojito and watermelon crush, but they'd run out of my choice of red wine, a surprising omission. So overall a disappointing experience. I think the restaurant would agree too.

Popped in on a weekend lunchtime, no reservation, but they found us a seat. Pizzas were tasty, lasagne excellent, kids enjoyed their Bolognese. Quick and efficient - the boys liked being able to see the flames of the pizza oven!

This visit with friends was much better . The pizzaâs we ordered were delicious with a very generous amount of topping . Great service & the waiter was really helpful & ensured any extras we ordered came with the pizza. Highly recommend a visit
