Things to do in LaVale
Pizza is hit or miss and lately it has been miss! Last time we ordered was in July....one of my sons spent the night throwing up after eating there. I chalked it up to coincidence. We ordered there tonight to give it another chance. Wish we wouldn't have! Pizzas barely had any sauce or cheese, dough had no flavor, and bread sticks were so dry and flat they were like bread crackers. Disappointment!!
We tried to order delivery online, but there was not an option for delivery to the hospital which was only a few miles away from the restaurant. We ended up calling in to order it, at which we could request delivery. Pizza was hot and delivered in a reasonable amount of time.
This walk in location has pizzas, wings and breadsticks ready to walk out the door. They also sell in bulk if you call ahead. We've used them for parties and church functions. They are even nice to let you borrow insulated bags to transport them too.

This little pizzeria creates an excellent pizza at a reasonable price. The mozzarella cheese tasted fresh and was of good quality. The tomato paste was rich in flavor. $11.00 for a large 1-topping is a bargain for the great quality and taste. Service was fast and friendly. I highly recommend for diners who like quality pizza.
JJ's has been locally owned and operated by the Lyon family since 1981 and is now in its second generation. John Lyon started the business to bring some of the tastes of his hometown of Buffalo, New York to Western Maryland and his sons, Kris & Tim, are c
I have ordered wings at this take-out restaurant several times. The quality is good and very consistent. They make their own blue cheese dip which is dynamite. Big chunks of blue cheese, thick sauce and a hint of pepper, it is a great go-with.The also serve pizza which I have not tried. However, every time I have been there, I notice lots of pies going out the door.Service is prompt. The wings have always been ready when promised and the staff is friendly. JJs also has delivery. As I haven't used that I cannot comment on it.Overall, a good place to get wings.
Working in Cumberland on a 4 day assignment. Did not have the time or inclination to go out. Ordered from Hartley's twice. First was a fried chicken dinner. They don't cook it until it is ordered. It arrived hot, crispy and delicious and pretty quickly. A nice crispy exterior and moist meat. Two breast and one wing. Definitely sharable. Had the Jo Jo potatoes which are thick wedges of baked potatoes lightly dipped in batter and fried to order. Really good. Send night order hot wings and fries, crispy with extra salt. Order arrived quickly with wings coated in sauce with enough for dipping in the bottom. Blue cheese dressing with chunks of blue cheese. Sliced carrots and celery, crispy. The wings were huge! crispy and hot (temp wise). The wing sauce was exactly as hot as you would expect. Fries were hot, crispy, and included an extra sprinkle of salt. Big, big servings for one person. Easily sharable so a great deal for a couple. I will definitely be ordering from them when I return to Cumberland.

We tried the pizza, wings, calzone, and Alfredo pasta. The food was good. The service was also very good considering they were very busy on a Saturday evening. The pizza crust was disappointing as it was extremely thin and we normally like thin but it was too thin for us. The spinach calzone was really good. The wings had good flavor but were rather small. The pasta wasnât anything special but it was good. I am glad we stopped. There arenât a lot of choices in the area so this is an option. Prices were reasonable.

The hotel recommended this as easy walk so we went over to Uncle Jack's. The salad was the best thing we had. Also got steak/cheese sandwich, pizza, and onion rings. Even the pizza was a full grease onslaught. The steak/cheese barely had any cheese, although I will say it was a lot of beef. Fast service. Low price. You really need an antacid after the meal due to all the grease. If ever in Cumberland again, I will try a different place.

Puccini Restaurant is located in the historic 1818 Hinkle House which served as a Civil War hospital during the Battle at Folckâs Mill. Famous for its wood fired pizza and its hometown friendliness, diners can select from Pucciniâs full lunch and dinner m
Was on a group motorcycle ride and stopped for lunch, the service was very with a large group. The food was excellent, the Cream of Crab Soup with Sherry was fantastic. Great place to stop while traveling.
