This is a great little family restaurant in La Mesa, CA.
We arrived late on a friday night and had the place virtually to ourselves, and had an amazing experience. The restaurant is family run, and they take a genuine interest in all their guests. You really feel like family here. We're Italian too so we had lots of stories to share. We ordered pizza and lasagna. Both were very good, along with the sangria. Small place, tucked in a corner, and a great new find for us.

I have always liked this place in the past but my husband had never been here before. We started with the fried artichokes. Oh my gosh they are good! I ordered a small pizza and my husband ordered a chicken, spicy peanut noodle dish. He got a tomato and mozzarella salad and I the garden salad. His was good but mine was mostly iceberg, turned brown lettuce with a lot of croutons. When our entrees arrived I was excited. Much to my great dismay, my pizza was horrible. Seriously. Canned tomatoes plopped on top with ample cheese but the pizza was not good. It had no flavor other than canned tomato sauce. My husband and I were surprised and thought that even a Pizza Hut pizza would have been better. His meal was delicious and very tasty. Wish I had gone with that:( We both agreed however that this restaurant is overpriced for what you get and we have decided not to go back again.

My Family went to Lido's for Fathers Day to help me celebrate. We ordered some nice pitchers of Draft Beer, and ordered some salads which were very good, especially with Lido's special House Dressing. Lance our server was so nice as he hustle around helping us with our every needs and wishes. I have been trying to get the recipe for Lido's House dressing for 55 years, but they will not give it to anyone. It is sooooooo Good ! I go to Lido's once a month to buy a special bottle of their House Dressing. It is sooooo good on their pizza slices. My family then ordered 3 large Pepperoni, Bell Pepper, & Onion Pizzas which were so tasty. Lido's is a Great place with Great Food !

My wife and I went to the YELP Elite event tonight at the Sammy's Woodfired Pizza in La Mesa Ca. We were nicely greeted and taken to our table by Sammy's Manager Brianna. Brianna was very nice, and gave us some history, and recent activities that Sammy's Woodfired Pizza has done. Our main server was Thirada or ( T ) as she said to call her, and her trainee Jess. (T) had a great friendly personality, and was so nice as she answered all of our questions about the menu items in detail. My wife and I shared the CRISP BRUSSELS SPROUTS with Romano cheese, walnuts, and a balsamic glaze, and the ASIAN SAMPLER with Garlic shrimp skewers, pork potstickers with chili ponzu and Thai chicken satays with peanut sauce. Both Shareables were very good especially the Brussel Sprouts. For the 2nd course we shared a SPICY THAI GRILLED CHICKEN SALAD with Mixed greens, julienned carrots & zucchini, tomatoes, peanuts, bean sprouts, cilantro, mint, and some Thai dressing. The Salad was delicious ! For our main entrees we had CHICKEN TEQUILA FETTUCCINE with Spinach fettuccine, bell peppers, red onion, jalapeño, with a yummy tequila-lime cream sauce. And we had a NEW YORK STYLE PIZZA with Sautéed mushrooms, all-natural pepperoni, salami, Italian sausage, and house-made tomato sauce. The Crust on the pizza was very tasty, and it did taste just like a New York Pizza. For dessert we shared some warm crispy Mini Donuts, with powdered sugar, and a raspberry and chocolate sauce. They were very tasty ! Everything that we tried was very good, and presented perfectly. Sammy's menu is very diversified with many different types of food categories. " Not Just Pizza " . They also have daily happy hours from 4:00 to 6:00pm where they have half off Shareable Appetizers, and $2.00 off beers. On Wednesday's they have 1/2 off all wine bottles also. Great place with a very friendly staff. We will definitely be back !

Went there last week, recommended by a friend. Excellent pizza! The line was going out the door, so I knew it was a good place to try. I wasn't disappointed. Try it if you are in La Mesa.
