Discover Restaurants offering the best Pizza food in Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. Kyoto is Japan's most traditional city. The lush and verdant cityscape encompasses sprawling rock gardens, vast palaces, and tall temples. The streets are alive with businessmen hurrying past Geiko and Makio in their full kimono, both on their way to work along cherry-tree lined walks. A historic hub that celebrates Japanese culture, from kabuki to textile weaving, Kyoto can also be surprisingly modern. It is one of Japan's largest, busiest, and most visited cities, with packed shopping mega-centers and high-rise offices. Suffused with shrines, outdoor markets, and nature walks, the small but bountiful location is also home to some of Japan's most contemporary architectural marvels, hippest cafes and eateries, and modish local brands and shops. It makes Kyoto a playful and sublime city, studded with as many bars and hole-in-the-wall fried food shops along the Kamogawa river as it is suffused with ancient ryokan and delicate wagashi shops. Kyoto is in the cross-hairs of Japan's most artful past and its energetic present.

If youâre visiting Kyoto and tired of ramen, soba and udon and need some comfort food, trattoria Macedonia yuki is THE place. What are the odds of finding real Italian food cooked to perfection by the Japanese owner, host, chef, waiter and bottle washer Yuki. He has the warmth that would make anyone in Tuscany proud. It is a 10-seat restaurant and everything cooked to order including perfect al dente pasta. Even the cannolis are great. You would swear you left Japan and transported to Italy. Of course his wine pairing was also excellent. He has been in his location for 6 years and hope he continues to get support so he is there the next time we are in Kyoto.

After a couple of weeks of challenging food for a vegetarian we ended up here three times. It opens at 5.30pm and it's worth either getting there early or making a reservation as it's understandably popular. It's fairly basic (but trendy) inside. Really friendly owner and staff.Pizzas great - particularly the 4 cheeses. They are not huge so we also had an amazing green salad on the side. And yes, from the second night onwards we got the complimentary limoncello at the end!
