Since we had lunch at âPrincSâ on a Saturday, there was, of course, no menu of the day but only the regular menu. However, we were surprised to be informed by the friendly waiter at the very beginning that pizzas and a few other dishes on the regular menu would only be available âlaterâ, which might presumably have meant âin the eveningâ. We did not know whether this was always the case or was due to some kind of technical problem in the kitchen. At any rate, this reduced the choice of dishes to be had to a few pasta, wok and salad dishes, some of them vegetarian, but the majority with meat.We were seated in the stylish restaurant area, which seemed to have been refurbished recently. Its design dominated by various shades of beige and brown was fairly sober. The tables were laid with white tablecloths and the room looked quite elegantly. Both the salad with beef and the vegetarian wok we had were nicely dressed and were served after only a moderate waiting time. There was nothing special about them, but they tasted fine and portions were of ordinary size. Apart from the limited choice of dishes, the only real downside of this restaurant were the prices, which appeared to be somewhat too high for lunchtime, even by city standards.

We've tried several restaurants in Klagenfurt over the course of the past year or so and were more or less disappointed in most cases. La Bottega quickly saved the day, though! We've eaten here twice so far and both times, the food was delightful - the Filettini Bottega with mushrooms (or with truffles on top!) are really tasty, the tiramisu is to die for and the Pana Cotta with just a hint of rum-flavor is brilliant as well. All of their food feels like it is very carefully prepared with only the best ingredients. The staff is Italian and while one of our visits was better than the other in that regard, I'd say that overall the waiters are still very friendly and provide a good service. The inside of the restaurant is modern, but cosy - my only "complaint" is that it gets quite busy in late afternoon/early evening, so it can get crowded indoors. There is outdoor seating available in the summer. The price-range is perfectly reasonable (around 10-15⬠per main course).

We enjoyed this restaurant on the recommendation of Italian friends and were very happy with the choice. We started with a couple of beers and bruschetta, which was very fresh and filling. Then, split two different pizza, one being their traditional white pizza. I would highly recommend if you are in the area and want really delicious pizza.

The building that harbors âFamigliaâ and the storefront of this restaurant looked unattractive and not inviting at all. However, the interior was a far cry from its street view. The small nonsmokersâ area, where we were lucky to be given the last empty table, turned out to be nicely decorated in a simple, slightly rustic and elegant manner.Obviously due to the origin of the host couple, the hallmark of âFamigliaâ were grill dishes from the Balkans, which most guests seemed to choose. Two pages of pizzas, both the usual variants and more special ones, were the second focus of its permanent menu. Additionally, it featured a few fish dishes.Although the restaurant was full, our meals were served after only a moderate waiting time. We were surprised how creatively dressed they were. Moreover, they not only pleased the eye but also the palate. Portions were so huge that some guests asked for doggy bags before leaving. Seeing this as well as the fairly small prices of the pizzas and Balkan grill dishes, value for money was excellent. We appreciated a lot how hospitably the young wait staff received us. In particular, the female host excelled by her friendliness and kindness. When paying the bill, we were even offered a digestive or a homemade lime liqueur. Thus, we really felt welcome at this place, not just as customers. Since the great performance of âFamigliaâ does not go unnoticed, making a reservation is advisable, especially at the weekend.
