Pizza, pasta, full bar, great Up North decor
Vivio's is iconic in Indian River and has been around for years. Atmosphere is "Up North" rustic casual. They have a full service bar, although no beer on tap and a fairly limited wine list.Menu initially appears quite extensive but it really is mostly multiple different spins on the same very basic pasta (spaghetti) and pizza. Sure they have meats and salads but there is no vegetable/potato choice for the meats (only pasta) and the salads are all made with iceberg lettuce, no decent greens or even romaine. Pizzas only have one crust style; no thin and crispy. All the food is somewhat bland; desperately lacking in spices and depth of flavor. Food prices don't initially appear bad but, compared to the quality of food delivered, I would say prices are too high.To be totally open I have been coming here with my spouse since 2001 but after the 1st few years I only returned because my Mom sort of likes the place and it is centrally located for our Mother/Son get together. I would not return just for my spouse and myself. Food is not good enough to justify driving down from Cheboygan. My overall reaction is that the menu has not changed to any noticeable degree since 2001 and the food quality is way below what it was in those days.

Although this is a popular bar, it has become a favorite spot for summer visitors to dine. The pizza is excellent and fairly priced. Burgers are large, cooked to order and served on a nice bun.

Located right on the Indian River. It's located in a really BIG old building. It used to be a hotel back in the day apparently. The rooms have been converted into low income rental units. The bar/restaurant itself is large! With a lot of updating it could really be something! The bartender was friendly. The drinks average price. For the size of kitchen it has the menu is pretty lacking. Basic pizza, deep fried items and burgers.
