Since 2016 Hanalei Bay Pizzeria has brought the north shore of Kauai great pizzas with creative and fresh ingredients, generous portions, and friendly service with Aloha! We are largely a carryout restaurant with limited seating inside the shop and picnic
I honestly don't understand. These people seem proud of their place, they only do pizza, they show off their dough, tossing and turning it... but apparently they have no pride in their product, and are content to serve a mediocre product, with a crust that tastes like cardboard.Good pizza needs a good crust and this starts with good dough. Dough is simple- just flour, water, salt yeast. I am sure they use the right ingredients- but every decent pizza maker knows that what makes a really great dough is T I M E...All it takes to transform this mediocre dough into perfect dough is 24 hrs of waiting. It's the same amount of work. Just make the dough a day in advance instead of 2 hours in advance. That's it.Why don't they do it? I honestly cannot understand. Ignorance? laziness? All they need to dough is get a book on pizza making or do some googling, and they can finally be proud of their pizza.

Both enjoyed our pizza at lunch time, but felt pretty expensive. The two waitresses were rushed off their feet, so can understand other reviews of poor service but I think this is a case of under staffing. Interaction with the waitresses was actually nice, they just didnât have the time to give everyone enough attention.

Most pizza places are very visible from the street, even garish. Hideaways is a true "hideaway" tucked off the main road between the Princeville Westin and the Princeville Resort. If you are looking for a place to sit down and eat pretty decent pizza with a cold glass of beer, this is a good place to find. They have a good, basic selection of pizzas and some special Garden Village Pizza which contains artichoke, roasted bell pepper, kalamata olives, mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes, onion, spinach, and topped with goat cheese and feta. Delicious. Pizza sizes are 10", 14", and 16". There are a couple of other vegetarian options and they will provide gluton-free crust. Service was fine. Atmosphere is more of a beer pub dark atmosphere rather than a pizza joint atmosphere. Although they are a "pub", I believe children are OK. A little pricey: our 14-inch pizza was $28 plus tax.

This is connected with the Tahiti Nui bar and restaurant which you should go for just for the experience if nothing else, although the food there is good. This Pizza has improved over the years and is now good. The crust is better than chain Pizzas and the topping are also a step up. This is not first class pizza, but most people don't eat that anyway. As a lover of first class Pizza, I usually don't order this, but it is good enough to order it when I am in the mood or when friends visiting from the mainland want go to the Tahiti Nui for the show and want pizza. If you are non Pizza snob, you will be very pleased with this.
