Been coming up to the Islands for decades and always got pizza at Cavallerioâs since it was the only pizza place in town. Because of TripAdvisor we came across this place and another place as well. Based on reviews we ate at Josieâs and we were very happy we did. They donât do much besides pizza, salad or pizza knots but what they do they do well. We got a large salad and a cheese and pepperoni pizza and a buffalo chicken wing pizza in some pizza nuts. The crust is a medium to a thin crust pizza which I like. It was cooked just right. They could have possibly put on a few more toppings but I canât complain because it was so good. We devoured every last bite. If I could make a recommendation to the owners it would be to use more marinara sauce. They make a very good marinara sauce but they need to put more on their pies. Prices were very reasonable. Service was friendly. We got in just before the dinner rush started on a Saturday night. We had to wait about 25 minutes for our meal but the place was consistently busy the entire time we were there. I get the impression this is where the locals get their pizza because they did a pretty good takeout business too. Definitely going to go back when in town !

We've never tried the pizza, but their Italian dishes are all very good. The Rigatoni with Pink Sauce is one of my favorites! Very good Italian wines at $4 per glass.Waitresses are very attentive.Could dim the lights a bit, kind of bright in there.

While in the Bay of vacation my fiance and I decided to swing by Cavallario's for lunch one day. We both got a sandwich and a drink and they were a phenomenal value. The food was great, the service was fast, and the view on the dock in great. We caught a whiff of someone's pizza so we decided to go back the next night for a pizza. My fiance can't have dairy so we ordered cheese on only half - the pizza was way more than half cheese when it came up - but they made her her own pizza for no cost without even batting an eye. Now that's service!

Two of the best pizza places in the North Country are in Gouverneur. NY Pizzeria and Dashnaws are both excellent.Today we dropped into Dashnaws for their awesome garlic knots and a tasty pepperoni pie. Heavenly. I'd post pics, but the creaky TA app won't let me.
