South of Chicago Pizza and Beef is a family owned and operated Chicago Style Italian Pizza, Pasta and Sandwich Restaurant. We offer the true Chicago Style Deep Dish Pizza, Italian Beef Sandwiches, other great sandwiches and pasta dishes.
We were already familiar with South of Chicago pizza from our visits to the Virginia Ave/ Fountain Square location. So when we heard SoS was opening a location near us, we were thrilled! We started with bread sticks (complimentary if you sign up for their promotional text messages) while we waited for our small (10") deep dish sausage + extra cheese pizza.(It takes about 20 minutes to make a proper deep dish pizza so either call ahead of be patient.) The pizza was plenty for the three of us. The marinara sauce is the main feature of the pizza and is a sweet sauce (which I love). The sausage was in large pieces scattered about - I'd prefer smaller pieces. The cheese was plentiful and tasty. The crust was perfect and very tasty. We were certainly not disappointed and will return for sure!
Chicago's Pizza is hands-down my favorite pizza restaurant in Greenwood. We have a specialty pizza place in the heart of downtown Greenwood, but it's a little pricey, so our family usually defaults to Chicago's if we want to go out for pizza. My favorite is the Windy City pizza with sausage, green pepper and onion. I always enjoy an order of breadsticks with nacho cheese sauce, too. And, the kids love visiting this particular restaurant if they are off of school during the week because of the pizza and salad bar buffet. Individual booth spaces mean families can enjoy a little privacy although tables at the front of the restaurant can be pushed together for large groups. They also offer a room at the back, so small groups have a place to gather over a meal. I've taken scout troops there and student groups there over the years, and it has cost us nothing to use that area. The only complaint I have about Chicago's Pizza is that the restaurant doesn't deliver. When we're home and simply want to order in, we too often order from places that deliver sub-par pizzas.

Local family owned Italian restaurant. Beer/wine.
Cute clean restraunt on Southside. People and service very good, no complaints there. I'm from the East Coast and was excited to find this place thinking, Ahhhh good Italian! The bread was wonderful, fresh and hot from the oven. The house Italian dressing very yummy. I had the baked mostoccioli and found it to be a little on the dry side. Also thought it was a bit over priced for plain pasta.

Well the place was very busy. We were told 45 minute wait so we decided to have a seat at the bar and were intending to eat dinner at the bar because the food is good but its not worth a 45 minute wait. After about 15 minutes and before we had the chance to order dinner they came to us and said that our table was ready. After being seated and looking around, I noticed 2 space heaters behind me. They must have been put into service a week or so ago when it was around 0 for the high. Our server arrived, and greeted us and took out order all from across the glass partition that divided where we were seated from the main hallway. I thought that's a little odd. I then noticed that on this same partition that our table was butted up to has the aluminum foil containers and lids stacked up there. Every time they needed a to-go container they came and grabbed one... at one point one of the server literally tossed a dirty table cleaning cloth there too. That was really a huge turn off. I felt like I had been seated within a servers bus-station. We had the calamari and a large salad for dinner. It's been quite a while since we have been here and looking around it looks like they really need to do a complete update, its looking old and very tired! It doesn't seem to be as nice as it once did. Our server continued to use the partition to do most of the contact through, I know it's busy but.... that just doesn't set a pleasant tone for a dining experience. The atmosphere is quite loud that made it very difficult to carry on a conversation and hear anything. I never heard any dining music playing just clanking and banging of silverware and dishes. What a turn off! Sadly, I'm going to say that's probably our last trip there. There's a much more upscale Italian place over by Southport Road and I65 that has a superior atmosphere. The food was good as usual but the rest just was a huge turn off and is not pleasant. When dinner for to is over 50$ I want a nice environment coupled with good quality food. I feel like we had 50% of that- good food.ChipM2000, we're sorry to hear about your dining experience on your recent visit. Had the burger. Dry and chewy. Fries that come with were excellent. Some of the food came out cold. Very average service. Waitress acted like it was burden when we asked for things. Service is usually better here. A favorite place of our family for years. Very good pizza and salads. Iâd skip the burger next time.

They're located close to our house, so we go there when we feel like grabbing something out that's close. The wood oven pizza is good & they have a large selection of sandwiches that we like. The fried mushrooms are the best I've ever had. They are slices of Portobello mushrooms with a well-seasoned, crisp light coating. It's worth the trip just for them! It's a locally owned business & Craig (the owner) is always very friendly.

I was with my daughter in Indianapolis for a karate tournament and we decided to have a last-minute planned team dinner after the tournament at 5pm on a Saturday. I called Brozinni Pizzeria and they said they would try to accommodate our party of 40+ as best as they could. When our party of 44 showed up at 5pm, it was a little confusing while they waited for some parties to leave so they could setup large tables so we could all be in the same section of the restaurant. However when they were finished seating all us, the service was absolutely amazing. We had all of the karate team members (ages 8-17) at one long table and all of the parents at 2 other tables. Our server, Sara, did a wonderful job of keeping all of the orders straight, delivering the right food to the right person and keeping all of the bills straight (20 separate bills). The food was also very good.I highly recommend this restaurant and will absolutely be back.

My wife and I went with another couple to Jockamo Upper Crust Pizza in Greenwood. While the setting is plain -- big open room, tile floor, tables and chairs... the pizza is GREAT! I heartily recommend the Cheese Louise pizza -- three or four different cheeses, including what I think was ricotta, and lots of bacon. What a taste combo! The Meat Lover's pizza is pretty darned good as well... and I have a feeling you can't go wrong with any of Jockamo's pizzas. We each had a side salad, and I had the Caesar's, which was just the right size and taste to go with the pizzas. A wee bit out of the way, but well worth the trip! Oh, a side note -- Jockamo's shares a small strip mall with a NAPA Auto Parts store, and there are parking places specifically designated for NAPA customers only -- don't park there. But there are two pretty good sized parking lots for Jockamo's, so it's no problem! The ONLY reason I don't give Jockamo's five stars is the "plainness" of their dining area -- everything else IS five stars!!
