Nice place, friendly staff, busy. The pizzas are huge, taste good, but not outstanding. We had one pasta dish, ravioli, was quite bland. Will not go again, even if the prices are very low

Modern tyrolean kitchen with mediterranean influence
I had a delicious sous vide salmon and great wine in a comfortable, fairly upscale and large restaurant. Others, who were in a more casual mood ordered pizza which the waitstaff was somewhat displeased with. I would go here more for fine dining than casual and I think you will be pleased.Dear Mr. Quentin, thank you very much for your super nice review and we would love to see you again for a fine or either a casual dinner. :-) Greetings from Traubenwirt and thank youTraube Roman & Team

Don't be tempted by the lovely setting, as the pizza proves tasteless. I had the bufala, which was bland and appeared to have little of the buffel mozzarella on it. They even put some garlic mayonnaise on the table, something I have never experienced in Italy. In 18 years as a regular in South Tyrol, I've never been disappointed in pizze before.

the waldschenke is a delightful place to enjoy south tyrolean hospitality and the delicious local food in all its forms - as well as pizzas! we stopped for an early lunch before heading out for a hike, and had the homemade "schlutzkrapfen" (a dream!) and the cheese dumplings with cabbage salad. we sat outside where the view really is something special. we came back again in the evening (as it's conveniently located to enjoy a beer after a long day's hike) and both had pizzas (a large pizza menu). they have many vegetarian options (which is not always the case in the mountains!), the prices are good value and the staff and owners were very attentive and obliging. they also had a detailed english menu which was a great help - we felt very welcome. all in all, we definitely recommend this spot and look forward to returning again!

Nice setting with gorgeous panorama outside.Inside is modern and clear with a touch of tradition and nice decor.Discreet but smiling welcome, good and fast service. We came here because we heard about their pizzas and were both enchanted by the âpizza della casaâ and the âcapriciosaâ.Reasonable bill of 28 EUR for 2 pizzas, 2 beers and 1 mixed salad. We'd like to return soon !

My husband and I visited this restaurant often during our 5 week stay in the Dolomites and enjoyed their extensive menu! The food was excellent and the service was superb. We highly recommended it.

I was here with my son and till now he only knew German pizza. He was very surprised about the taste and quality of original Italian pizza (ok, real original would be Naples pizza). I had the speciliyty "Black pizza"; a pizza with active coal in the dough. So the pizza dough is real black. To be honest I did not taste any difference to a "normal" pizza but nevertheless the taste was great. Staff vas quick and friendly. Prices are very reasonable.

Nice and elegant restaurant, but in a dark location on the side outside of the freeway. Food is well prepared, very rich and at the end of good quality. They lack of service: we asked for two glasses of wine (a Sauvignon Blank and a Pinot Noir) and they did not show the bottle or at least say the name of the producers. The waiters do not talk and do not describe the dishes so you risk to receive a bad surprise: that is what happened when we ordered a desert that was supposed to be balls of ricotta filled with gianduia chocolate on a bed of vanilla cream: we expected a nice, cold desert after a rich menu to refresh our mouths and came out to be a warm desert not appealing at all that we did not eat. We said the waiter our disappointment and he answered just that the desert is what it is, without offering any apology or proposing a different desert. We asked information about another desert and he said nothing else but the name written in the menu. This is disappointing. Too bed because we enjoyed the first time here, but not this one, and we are very sorryâ¦..

Very popular and busy restaurant. Service was fast and efficient and meals were tasty and generous portions. Reasonable menu with plenty of choice for both food and beverages.
