This restaurant needs many updates, and it should start with their staff. We went into this establishment on a Sunday and the restaurant had very few patrons, yet we waited for awhile before someone came to ask us had we been helped. The problem is that 2 servers watched us take a seat and it seemed to be that we were purposely being ignored, because when the next guests came in to be seated, they were quickly approached with menus. It seemed to be that the servers were being selective in who they helped. I will let management read between the lines. It was not until someone that served drinks in the front area came to our table and asked us had we been helped, and a young lady who had just arrived was promptly sent to our table...who by the way was also working the back bar station We placed our orders and were disappointed in the serving size as well as the uncleanliness of the pizza platter that came over just before our meal. The pizza was below average and the bill was above average. Sadly, we did not see the Groupon posting for this restaurant, because we would have surely used it and saved ourselves a little money. The only reason this restaurant made a 2 star, is due to the young lady at the back bar and the young man who served drinks in the front, who initially approached us.

First time in Detroit and everyone said I had to visit Buddyâs. Service was quick and pleasant, pizza was good but nothing to write home about. Kind of tastes like Pizza Hut to me. This is by far the best pizza in metro Detroit area. Been coming here since 1982. It does get very busy on wknd nights, but worth it. A must when in Madison Hts, Michigan. When Iâm not out here, I will visit the one in Clinton Twp.

This is a special little place in Ferndale, was worried at first when they first opened, but they have found a special menu that has helped them stay put on 9 Mile. I like that they have a gluten free and vegan pizza as well.

A great selection for people out of town. It has a very welcoming vibe and a small town feel. It is a great restaurant to start drinking at before a night out in royal oak or to end a night of drinking either way it should be a stop for any royal oak visit.

Located in the lively downtown city of Royal Oak, this restaurant/bar serves typical American fare- hamburgers, sandwiches, salads, fish & chips, & pizza. I had the fish & chips, & my girlfriend had a salad. Both were okay, but nothing out of the ordinary. Drinks (wine) were generous, staff was friendly. In fairness, we found out from a family member after our visit that this restaurant is known for their great pizza, so we will return soon to check it out. Reasonably priced with a nice atmosphere.

I tried Louis on a recommendation of a friend and was impressed. The pizza itself is simple, standard square Detroit style pizza with a very very nice crunchy crust to it. The sauce is just right, not to sweet or spicy and the level of cheese is perfect. I didnât not try anything else as I was only there for the pizza and would definitely come back. Louis is easily comparable or better to other top pizza spots in Detroit.

Found this place while walking elsewhere -- huge beer selection, both bottles and draft. Had a good Pasty (UP Michigan baked meat pie enclosed in a crust) with a generous supply of hot gravy, with Bell's Best Brown, it was wonderful, and economical. Staff was friendly and knew the menu and beers; menu is a bit limited but good. Outside area I noted is Dog Friendly. Not fine dining -- plasticware for cutlery & beer glasses, but friendly open atmosphere, generous portions, friendly service, local and Michigan craft beers & food highlighted.

Love this place. Even after my new diabetes diagnosis I can still find plenty of options. We used to get the 'Filthy Animal' pizza which I miss, so have one for me. The menu changes but other favorites include the rigatoni alla norcina (arguably their best dish), wood fired broccoli, the 'Game of Thrones' pork shank among others. Good service. Fun interior. Inventive cocktails and a decent wine list. Nice outdoor seating in the summer. An attached area for live music.

We were in the area with friends so decided to enjoy dinner together before the show. BEST Italian food ever. Lukus was our server and took the time to explain the many excellent choices of food & drink they offer. Although it isn't close to home, we all agreed we would have to return. So many items to choose from ~ it could take us a few visits to try them all. Great value considering the quality of the food and excellent service.
