This is a great little local bar, which serves very tasty pizzas to eat in or take out. We used this place a number of times whilst we stayed in Pognana Lario. The owners are really friendly, and from inside the bar you get great views over the lake, with some fabulous sun sets. It's a no thrills basic bar, but seems to deliver more, with the friendly owners.

Crotto is the name of the typical restaurant around here where everything is simple but good. This crotto has surprised us because all is left about being typical is the name. Everything else is modern, refined, with ambitious menu. We were lucky to spend the night that was not so busy for them, we felt so welcomed by the waiter who gave us outstanding service all the way through. We tried a bit of everything and i have to say that fish plates are surprisingly good, whereas the meat is just good :). We appreciated the freshness of the ingredients and their respected seasonality (artichokes, pumpkin and cauliflower were provided). Last but not least, the bill was another nice surprise. Two starters, two first courses, three second courses, two desserts, a great bottle of pinot nero, one glass of moscato and one glass of special grappa, all for â¬140. We will go back as soon as possible!

My good friend always tries to find somewhere new and interesting for my frequent visits, and Ristorante Gnocchetto did not disappoint. Located far away from the tourist areas, we ate very well for 52 Euro per person, including three different wines from their extensive wine list. Recently extensively remodeled, don't bother with pizza or gnocchi, and go straight for the gourmet entrees, as very fair prices. Highly recommended!

We were staying very close to this restaurant in September and our anniversary was the 26th. The service was wonderful here and we choose the 3 course meal that including wine. The first course was beef carpaccio with rocket (arugula) and it was very good. The second course was fresh pasta also wonderful. The last course was beef and vegetables and it tasted amazing. We would love to go back and enjoy some fresh pizza next time. The table next to ours was having pizza and it also looked very tasty.The lake views are absolutely beautiful!!
