Esch-sur-Alzette (Luxembourgish: Esch-Uelzecht pronounced [ˈæʒ‿ˈuə̯ltsəɕt], German: Esch-an-der-Alzette or Esch-an-der-Alzig, French: Esch-sur-Alzette) is a commune with town status in south-western Luxembourg. It is the country's second "city", and its second-most populous commune, with a population of 33,286 inhabitants. It lies in the south-west of the country, on the border with France and in the valley of the Alzette, which flows through the town. The town is usually referred to as just Esch; however, the full name distinguishes it from the village and commune of Esch-sur-Sûre which lies 45 kilometres (28 miles) further north. The country's capital, Luxembourg City, is roughly 15 km (9.3 mi) to the north-east.

1er essai il y a 2 mois. La viande est bonne (prix élevé malgré tout) et nous sommes servis rapidement. Nous décidons de prendre un dessert: crêpe au Nutella avec boule de glace. Nous sommes servis au bout de 30 minutes pour avoir des crêpes horriblement épaisses et pas assez cuites avec une boule de glace vanille qui n'était vraiment pas bonne!Je retente aujourd'hui avec une pièce de boeuf cuite à la pierre. On me propose frites salade et sauce avec. C'est parfait. La viande arrive. Je la cuis peu et demande donc une assiette pour l'y déposer. Je reçois une assiette à dessert...pas vraiment pratique pour une pièce de 300g. Et à mi parcours du repas j'ai du demandé la salade et la sauce...Nous étions 10 clients. Pas débordés...Vraiment dommage....

We visited on a snowy day. The other guest were mainly locals. The pasta we had was prepared as in every other Italian restaurant in Luxembourg.

Located in the Marco Polo Shopping Centre, you find the honestly best Pizza and Pasta in Esch - and all for reasonable prices.Choose between a slice of a XXL-Pizza (especially ruccola-mozarella can be recommanded ;)) or between 4 sorts of pasta.You really have to go and try!!

...stay away from the st pierre wih leek sauce. Although it was on the suggestion list, the fish was really bad (tasted rather like codfish that was not properly rinced). Hence it was a salt dry fish in a ready to use cream sauce with some leek. I didn't eat it (my boyfriend shared some of his pizza with me that was good). After I complained the waitress was kind of aggressive, while in the end they did not make me pay for the fish (this got them uprated to poor). Further the girl on the next table was served 15min aftr her family, without any excuses (as far as we heard).Maybe the place is good if you want pizza or pasta, but I think they need either to learn the other stuff or just not suggest it.

I have visited this family run restaurant in 1985 for the first time. Within 30 years I never got disappointed, and I will surely still return.Excellent pizzas and pastas, as well as nice grilled meat or fish, you will always love it. The menu will change seasonally, and in autumn they serve very tasty "marcassin"(wild boar) or moules (mussels), in spring time special asparagus dishes are served.
