There are lots of places serving wood-fired pizza in Ljubljana, but this one is a bit out of the pedestrian tourist zone in the Poljane neighborhood. Itâs worth the extra short walk to check out what some people say is the cityâs best pizzeria. In some ways itâs a victim of its own popularity because all of the tables in the two small dining rooms were either occupied or reserved on a Friday night at 6pm. A waitress sat us down at a reserved table and said we had an hour to eat before the reservation showed up. Service was a bit casual but all was forgiven when the pizzas showed up. Generous amount of fluffy burrata and other cheeses on my primavera, my companionâs pie was paved with cured ham. The crust manages to be soft and crispy at the same time, with the distinctive black dots marking it as truly Neapolitan. The waiter finally smiled when we said how much we liked it. No beer on tap, only craft and local beers in bottles. Pizza was 5 stars and I would definitely come back with a reservation for the front room next time.

Been her several times. Service is always good. Pizza is prepared in bread oven and is very good. Prices are reasonable. All in all, nice stop for lunch or dinner.

I heard that itâs in top 5 pizzerias in Ljubljana, but I didnât expect it to be THAT good. Light & pleasantly crunchy crust, excellent Italian ingredients, a variety of toppings... Awesome! They also have local craft beer on tap. Even the hot sauce was perfect! Service was very nice, too. Wine selection could be better, though, but they advertise âpizza and beerâ combination anyway :)

The place has a nice atmosphere, well complemented by good and kind service from the staff. We have a lot of pizzerias in our area and some of them are really good, the others might just well close down. Da Mattia is one of the best! Small place with really good pizza selection, as they are actually pizza&pasta restaurant, they offer also pasta, which is also very good, their wine selection is also worth mentioning, since not so many restaurants of that type offers that good wine selection.Highly reccomendable

Visited this place on a rainy Sunday, found it on Tripadvisor. Modern place with a good cuisine and tasty food. We were glad another good restaurant in our area was found. We hope they will stick with their philosophy and we will for sure be back.
