Visited with my husband and children aged 15 and 13. We ordered 2 x anti pasti and 2 pizzas and couldn't get through all the food. The anti pasti just kept coming and was delicious. The pizzas were good too but definitely ordered 1 too many. Good service too, very friendly.
The staff is very rude in this place, they donât welcome new customers. You pay for what you get and despite it is cheaper than other places in Ceglie, it is not worth a visit!Please stay away from it

Nice restaurant in the basement of this old olive press, which are very popular in southern Italy. The anti pasti are very good, and you really don't need anything further as there is simply too much food..... only criticism is that it is a little cold!!!

Un barlume di speranza per quelli come me fanno della cucina un corretto rapporto qualità prezzo. Sono tornato a Ceglie dopo due anni e l' ho trovata cara e mediamente in discesa anche come qualità . Ma questo posto è decisamente in controtendenza! Qualità del cibo 5 stelle, personale 5 stelle, locale 4 stelle, parcheggi 5 stelle, prezzo 5 stelle! BRAVI!.Turisti in cerca di genuita senza essere spennati questo è il posto giusto; fuori dalla calca di questo paese troppo concentrato nel centro storico dove ormai si fatica a muoversi

The Garden has moved. Now at Via San Vito 15/19This is a lovely renovation of an old building, it is bright, light and so much more spacious, room to move between tables without falling over other diners. Most of the menu is as before, but with some interesting additions, and the prices will bring a smile to your wallet. It is worth the effort to find this restaurant - it's close to the level crossing.Give it a try.

Very disappointed with our meal. Antipasti quite good, but 2 meals out of 4 sent back. Octopus was off. As there were only 1 octopus and 2 prawns on the plate it is difficult to understand why they didn't realise the octopus did not smell right, let alone taste right. An apology would have been appreciated, but no hint even. As for the 'fillet' steak, well, thinnest, fattiest fillet I have ever come across, shoe soles thicker. House wine very nice. Mi spiego : Lei ha detto che il polipo non le piaceva e io molto gentilmente sono venuto al tavolo proponendovi altro,suo marito molto scortesemente e con aria arrogante non ha più voluto nè mangiare nè bere fino alla fine del pasto a differenza degli altri commensali, che erano con voi, che hanno mangiato tutto. Forse eravate un'po indisposti quel giorno....Mi permetto di dire questo perchè vi conosco abbastanza bene in quanto siete clienti,che da un decennio siete a Ceglie e venite spesso a mangiare da noi.... Potevate scrivere una nota positiva nel frattempo visto che siete venuti centinaio di volte e che vi abbiamo sempre trattato bene. Per quanto riguarda la carne viene acquistata da una delle migliori macellerie del posto:si tratta di un filetto freschissimo e non di uno sottovuoto o congelato (come spesso si è abituati a mangiare) Pertanto un filo di grasso ci potrebbe anche stare,ma il gusto le assicuro che è ottimo. In ogni caso quei secondi non sono stati conteggiati e questo mi sembra un ateggiamento più che corretto da parte mia. E sono disposto a chiedere anche scusa pubblicamente sperando che ritorniate da noi per continuare a gustare le nostre proposte.Ciao MIMMO

Jus tried this place an was surprised of how good it was. Only problem is the size of the portions. It's simply not possible to eat all. Nice seating outdoors and friendly vaiters make this place one of our favorites.

We arrived in Ceglie Messapica having decided to skip breakfast and have a healthy brunch. Turned out we were too early for the restaurants that were going to open - a lot don't on Mondays. Be warned! Cafes were only serving drinks and bready-type nibbles, of which I'd had my fill on this road trip. From baguettes and croissants to ciabattas, I was now craving greens,, 'verdure'!The only restaurant we found open (and it wasn't actually open to be honest. The roller blind was still closed but I heard voices inside - that's how desperate I was! "Excuse me - through the metal door - but are you opening today?"Zio Peppe's is a pizza restaurant by night and by day it has a good selection on its menu. However, I was looking for salads, plates of veg...anything green. Not always easy to find in small town serving typical apuglian dishes. Delicious but not what I was after....When I asked if the owner - Giuseppe - had any salad, or greens, or any vegetables at all he said he could put together something for me.Wow, a tailor-made lunch which turned out to be a 'greens' feast ((with some added local cheese and air-dried prosciutto-type meat).Giuseppe turned out to have run 3 restaurants in Heidelberg about the time I was still studying there. Serendipitous or what?!We had such a great chat, and I loved the lunch.And even though I meant salad OR mixed veg rather than salad AND mixed veg we had no problem eating most of it. Delicious.We'll have to return to try the pizza which is renowned :)
