I have been visiting Tonino's Place for lunch a fair amount recently. A slice or two, well done, with a soft drink. Simple. Convenient. Tasty. With attractive, California-style crust, not quite Neopolitan, though. Today I had the opportunity to have a great conversation with the owner's lovely and gracious wife, Linda. We discussed our mutual passion for food, della cucina Italiana, and particularly pizza. She couldn't help but boast about how fresh and authentic everything was about their pizza. Most importantly she gave me some important local knowledge to get terrific and authentic Italian pizza at Tonino's Place. Here are the highlights:* If you like your pizza stile Italiano or NY style ask for "with bubbles" and well done. I guess it's a California thing like Botox or Restylane that most pizzas in Cali are style over substance. But I don't want my pizza all pretty with consistent, doughy white edges! Give me bubbles. Delicious, ugly, slightly burnt, but oh-so-wonderfully tasty bubbles.* As mentioned previously, everything is made in house, with many items imported from Italy.* Tonino himself is from Italy, and he insisted on an authentic Italian pizza oven.* Pizza toppings include premium imported Prosciutto di Parma, not the cheap domestic imitations, and cheese is similarly imported and authentic.* Linda was especially proud of their specialty pizzas, touting the Margherita (actually a fave of mine) with imported mozzarella and the via Appia, which includes Burrata Cheese, bresaola, fresh tomato, arugula, topped with house-made saba (grape sauce redux) sauce. Molto bene!My chat with Linda gave me the local knowledge to order Tonino's pizza the way most Italians and easterners enjoy it, and it made me aware that Tonino's Place is unique in trying hard to provide a top-notch product in a veritable mediocrity of California pizzerias. So if you like your pizza Italian or east coast style, order your pie well done with bubbles and consider some great imported toppings. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Grazie, Signora Linda!

Great neighborhood spot. Friendly service and terrific pizza. Thin crust and great quality toppings. My wife had the lobster ravioli which was delicious. I opted for the crusted halibut which was perfectly cooked and a generous portion. Family friendly and very reasonable prices. Worth the drive to Woodland Hills any night of the week!

Had a great dinner there last night. Owner is a very good host. Excellent wine list. Caesar salad prepared at the table by very capable hands. Pasta figole soup was good. Oso buco was tender and flavorful. Wife ordered veal parmigiano. It looked good with plenty of fresh vegetables. She enjoyed it. The dessert list was appealing but we were too full for dessert. We do plan on returning.

We ordered online for delivery to our hotel. Ordering was easy and reasonably priced. Delivered quickly and was super hot. Ordered 2 pizzas and wings. When we got to our room and opened the pizza, the pizza's were not cut into slices. Needless to say, in a hotel room with no cutlery, this was a bit difficult. They did send lots of plates and napkins with the order. After you place your order and it is delivered, the website asks you if you to do a little survey. I filled in the survey stating the food was good, delivery was great but was disappointed because the pizza wasn't cut. The manager called my cell phone shortly after I finished the survey very apologetic wanting to make it up to us. They sent over a fully loaded large pizza for us at no charge. I thought this was great customer service and was not expecting them to follow up at all. Not many businesses do this anymore so kudos to Dominoes!

little hole in the wall (as in like only couple tables for seating) but the food was excellent, fabulous and wonderful and price acceptable even on a state per diem. Salad was large with great mix of lettuces, cucumber, onion, tomato, little cheese. My pizza was great. Deep dish, with sweetness in the sauce and crust. A perfect little dinner.

Staying in the area we tried this restaurant. They had a great menu that was full of options for my family. We enjoyed the meat ravioli and calamari as well as the pizza. The service was good. We actually liked the food so much that we made sure to stop in for dinner again before we left. Obviously, we would eat here again if we were in the area and definitely recommend it to others.Richard, offering our guests the best variety of options for you and your family is what we aim for, and my mother, Maria, would not have it any other way! We love hearing that you enjoyed our meat ravioli, calamari, as well as our pizza! If you and your family are ever in the area again, please come by! Grazie, Maddy

Rosti Cuccina Italiana is a transplant of simple Tuscan countryside cooking where fresh herbs and wholesome ingredients will marry one another and create a delightful experience.
We stopped here because on the way to Santa Barbara, conscious that we would not get there before 7:30-8:00 and wanting to have dinner before then. As we were entering, we wondered whether it would do, and a young woman who overheard us said we would love it. âLoveâ is a bit strong, but I liked my sliced beef and Gorgonzola sandwich, and my wife liked her chicken salad. We were agreeably surprised. The service is competent, and the general atmosphere is cheerful. Recommended.
