This second visit was fried chicken night. So, of course, we ordered fried chicken. With a fried chicken for two order you get two sides. Sides are mashed, French fries, mac and cheese, roasted veg (which also include potatoes â lots of starch choices), corn bread, or biscuits and gravy. The chicken itself was sort of segments. That is, you got a whole let, but the breast was not a whole breast. I didnât see a way to choose just white or dark, but also didnât ask. The breading on the chicken was a little tough. The frites (French fries) were also a little tough, rather than crisp and delicate. I have no idea what they do to make things tough â could have to do with oil temp or? The roasted veg were okay, though for two people, I was surprised that it was only enough to fill a small bowl (a bowl you would serve a cup of soup in). The service was pretty good. Friendly server, but took a long time to bring change. They only take cash, which seems pretty surprising in 2019. The first time I went I was unimpressed and this time was okay, but for the calories of fried chicken, I want really good chicken.

Great location with patio right on Pearl Street where you can watch all the action and street performances. The Bolognese sauce was perfect. The pasta with shrimp and scallops was not so great. Seafood was really overcook and hard. Would still go back.

The meal at Pasta Jayâs on Pearl Street, Boulder, Colorado was very good. The special thinly sliced New York Strip on Pasta was excellent. The veal parmesan was very good. Service was excellent. Recommend.
