The spaghetti allo scoglio (seafood spaghetti, aka spaghetti with frutti di mare) was outstanding. Beautiful location, right down by the lake. The grilled sole was also very good. We came back a second evening for the spaghetti allo scoglio. They also serve pizzas, but the fish and seafood spaghetti are recommended -- pizza you can easily get right about anywhere!

After we'd finished our visit to Swiss Miniature, we went to Il Grande Fratello for lunch. We both ordered pizza. The pizzas were baked to perfection, had a nice crispy crust, and a perfect amount of toppings... Our waitress was very friendly...

In the Italian Lakes you can have an equivalent experience to that in Lugano, in terms of beautiful surroundings. Same in the French Alps. But only in Lugano will you find average, unexceptional food: that is the norm in Lugano - it is AVERAGE. The Domino conforms. Much of the food is pre-prepared. The waiting staff are "just doing their job". The prices are spectacularly high. Wines are greedily marked-up. I'm not just singling out the Domino for these comments; the same applies to 95% of the eating places in Lugano - just look at the number of "Poor" and "Terrible" on the reviews!

If you want to enjoy a truly good tasting Pizza, go here. You get it - and you have choice of endless variations. Ever heard of a French Fries Pizza? Here you get it. (And kids love it.)Don't expect a fancy restaurant, the "Giardino" is simple and therefore simply a joy. You also don't get the ever smiling staff here, but you get the real thing. Authentic and true. The decoration is classic Italian, a bit dated, but never mind that. You come here after a day on the Lake or taking a break from a long journey to or back from Italy. It's worth it and far better than stopping at the usual highway restaurants. The food is great, the prices are OK.

We ate twice at this wonderful restaurant with wonderful location in Mercote. The satff are friendly and willing to welcome the guests; speaking English...flexibility to adapt the menu. The fish is fresh, polenta with funghi mushroons and homemade pasta are excellent. Make sure to book before go. We definitely recommend this restaurant; perfect for families with kids too.

Here for the first time, i arrive with a friend of mine at 19.45. we stay outside, with a good point of view on the television just to follow the football match (i asked it during the reservation by phone 4 hours before). Nice welcoming of the girl at the restaurant, who describes us the list of special dishes (first and seconds) but we prefer to eat this fantastic pizza (napoletan style). i take 4 season (4 stagioni), with vegetables. Both pizzas come to us in 15 minutes with coke too. The view is very nice, no burn around or under and the taste is very good! i eat it very slowly just to satisfy my stomach. After Pizza we take dessert, they are all fresh and home-made! i take pastiera napoletana, it's like a cake with inside ricotta and sweets. It's wonderful! For the end, coffee. Total, for each 28chf, very good price if i compare respect other restaurants in Lugano area. Very recommended for the menù, location and price!

My family and I went for Easter to cantinetta caprese as i suggested we could enjoy some tasty food all together. We have been several times before and it was always very good. The place has a big room inside and an outdoor terrace which is great during the summer. We ordered some mussels as appetizer (they were plump and sauce lovely) and octopus with potatoes (good), then as mains we took lamb (as it was on the daily menu, good but a bit dry, i expected more), some pasta (amazing but slightly too much al dente) and a fish (very good). We took some dessers which were good but did not blow me away this time except for the caprese which is always tasty and soft.Overall a wonderful meal even though for the price we paid (very high) I would have expected more especially from the lamb.Service was friendly and the atmosphere nice too.
