I frequent this comfortable, friendly restaurant because its food is always tasty. For lunch, I particularly recommend the salads or the panini; forget any diet and have the latter with the hot homemade potato chips. At dinnertime, loads of fine choices, from crab cakes to pastas to Middle Eastern dishes. And for any meal, any time: great pizza!
We make gourmet Neapolitan style pizza which is baked directly on the stone next to the 925 degree wood fire. We hand stretch your fresh dough, top the pies, and bake them all right in front of you.Our cuisine focuses on sourcing the freshest local & orga
First, the pizza - outstanding. Creative offerings, thin crust, flavorful, nice wood fire crispy flavor. And they look great. The folks there are very nice and welcoming, and the owner offered free drinks when the orders were slow and delayed. I tried to order on line first; it was not easy, and I gave up. Then I tried to call. I called over 20 times and it was busy every time. Finally I just drove there. I asked what's with the phone, and they realized the phone was still on from a previous call - a long time ago. I sat and waited for my pizzas and salad, watching the action. They were having a tough time keeping up. They were running out of things (they stopped serving large pizzas because they ran out of dough! On a Friday night at 7:15!), they finally got my pizzas finished,, but forgot the salad. They quickly fixed that and were very nice. The pizza was pretty cold by the time I got home, and very oily, but nevertheless, it was awesome. They are pretty new. Hopefully they will get better organized. I will be back because it is without question the best pizza in Bethel.

I was surprised, amazed, maybe even shocked to find out how awesome the pizza tasted. Our server, Tamiris provided friendly service. This is a hidden gem in Danbury. We went back the following day for coffee and dessert. The Espresso machine was out of order but the regular coffee was good.

We were told about this restaurant by relatives who had tried it and truly enjoyed their dining experience. Getting to Gisella's from 84 is a bit of a challenge but well worth it. The restaurant is small, but does have a separate dining area for private parties. The facility, including the kitchen is impeccably clean. we ordered several things to try: calamari fritti, broccoli rape, eggplant Milanese, and eggplant florentine. Everything was perfectly prepared. This is not your average pizza restaurant fare. The eggplant was thinly sliced, lightly breaded and well prepared - not greasy in the least. The eggplant was devoid of bitterness. The sauce was nicely prepared also - not too thin, but not the thick tomato pasty variety either. It resembled a sauce made from fresh summer tomatoes. Calamari fritti were crisp and tender. The broccoli rape was delicious - seasoned nicely in olive oil and garlic and not too al dente and not too soft either. It retained its bright green color. Great coffee! My side of capellini was so large that it could have served as a meal. Again, it was prepared nicely - lightly sauced with an additional dollop of sauce on top, not swimming and drowning in tomato sauce. Michelle our server was so very friendly, attentive and accommodating. All in all, it was a great dining experience. We many times meet relatives from White Plains in the Danbury area, as it is a half way point for both groups and Gisella's has become the place we will meet from here on. It is that good. Good, delectable Italian American food, prepared just like your Nonna would on a Sunday afternoon. It is a must try - it is that good.

Glad for augie if he is out from under the 24 7 365 grind. What a business he had. Now for the new owners and restaurant. What a mess. Sitting waiting over one hour for order. Mass confusion. Mixed up bills. Different staff and now people complaining about food. What a shame! Thanks for many years of enjoyment at the old Augieâs. The new one is not getting my business.

We walked in, ordered our pizza, and were on our way in less than 15 minutes... on a busy Saturday night. Pizza was very good with plenty of cheese and toppings. Prices are very reasonable. We were staying in a nearby motel and asked for and received paper plates and plastic ware (service for six!) I forgot to ask for red peppers and parmesan cheese and they didn't offer any so I don't know if it is available.

Pepeâs in new haven was always the place to go for me and my family for the last 50 years. Nothing like a good tomato pie. When new generations branched the business into more locations we were tentatively reserved that it would be as good. Never quite as good as old new haven but close in taste and atmosphere. Over the last 2-3 years we have seen a decline in quality of pies and now service is rapidly declining and making us go elsewhere. Lately the wait has been over an hour for a phone in order. They consistently mess up the orders and the pies are thicker and often over done where the top is burnt. Staff is very distracted and uninterested in customers and acting robotic in actions leading to errors. Did Pepeâs get to big to keep the quality family place we loved? It appears to have. A real shame since it was a true icon in Pizza.

We ate here, take out, ordering their pizza with the works. It was excellent. Good variety of meats, vegetables, lots of sauce and cheese. Service was quick and staff polite. I would recommend this place, and would eat there again.
