Visited here after booking online, a short walk from the Palais Longchamp. This restaurant is relaxed and the owner very friendly, speaking more than enough english for those of us with limited French skills! We were made to feel extremely welcome and the food did not disappoint, the fish cooked in the woodfire oven was generous and very tasty, my pizza heart was delicious with loads of anchovies, yum! The wine was most acceptable and inexpensive..I think we will be visiting again to try another couple of dishes! Great for all the family, highly recommend trying this one!

Best when started 3 years ago.not cooked enough and even if wood cooked we have tested others around and better! Anyway, we still try each time! They have 2 sizes but it is same with 0,50⬠difference! Price is 9.80⬠per pizza.
Question de goûts peut être.

Accueil parfait.

This is a fairly basic pizza place - we sat outside around a plastic table on plastic chairs in what I guess you could call a garden area and were severed with an acceptable pizza and some cheap wine.I will not be going there again..

we went there for a alumni meeting and the waitress was very nice and friendly -maybe too friendly though. The pizza chef looked like he was depressed. The restaurant itself looks old with garden chairs and tables...BUT the food was extremely good! We ordered a pizza for the 'apéro' and it was good. The meat was awesome and the wine quite good and all that for a low price!Who would expect to find good food in a commercial area

We must have passed the Pizzeria Vesuvio a dozen times without giving it a second glance. Walking past from the street it looks like a small, rather kitsch, Italian pizzeria with a few wooden tables and not very many customers. The reason that we eventually went in was that there always appeared to be a steady stream of people going in and out, which was at odds with the seemingly empty interior. I am very glad that we did, and we have since returned on a number of occasions.Inside the small front room of the pizzeria there is a door which leads to a large back room with what must be one of the best views that you will find anywhere in the area. You can see Marseille, most of the hills that surround it along with the sea and Islands, best of all, during the spring and summer evenings, you will catch the sun setting over Marseille and the Mediterranean - even without the food, this view is something special. The food is not haut-cuisine but good plain Italian cooking. However, like the exterior, the name "pizzeria" is a little misleading - be warned, if you are a fan of pizzas you will probably find the Vesuvio's pizzas rather small and many people seem to order them as a starter rather than a main course. There are a variety of dishes available and they all seem to be good value for money. The service can be variable as they seem to employ a number of trainee or temporary staff to serve at the tables; consequently, it can be "pot luck" as to who you get. Having said that there are some permanent staff and the people who run pizzeria are friendly, helpful and can speak a little English, so if there is a problem it can be sorted out.Well worth a visit if you are in Allauch and equally worth the trip out from Marseille - even if it is just to see the city from a different angle.
