Recommended by Peru Hop. Nice clean room with double bed and bath. Pool area is very nice with many lounge chairs. Breakfast included egg, bread, fresh juice and coffee. Staff was helpful. Room was pleasant, good size, and had a balcony. Door locks were questionable as the open window (no a/c in these parts) allowed the door to be unlocked by reaching into the room from outside. Bed was very uncomfortable. Hard plasticized mattress complete with hard formed foam pillow with uncomfortable sheets seemed a miss-match to the quality level the hotel touted on its website. Glad I had my silk sleep sack I typically use at lower end hostels

I asked for a vegetarian soup and they came with pollo, not strange to make a mistake so I sent it back. The waitor then came back with the same soup, now significantly colder and it was obvious that they just had scooped the chicken out. It was basically water with noodles and some chicken bits floating around in it. Ate it cuz I couldnt be bothered, but we did not a good experience here.

With food around Huacachina being very limited and catering mostly for gringo tourist tastes, this was probably the most authentic restaurant with a modicum of quality. Opted for the Marino Menú which consisted of crab soup followed by fish chicharron. Relatively reasonably priced in comparison to some of the other places at the oasis. Won't completely blow your socks off in terms of quality though.

Huacachina is a very small and touristy town. There are many restaurants catering to âWesternâ appetites, serving burgers and fries, pasta, pizza, etc. Nuna Cocina serves all of the above, and Peruvian specialties. Their 18-sole âmenu del diaâ comes with a choice of drink (lemonade or fresh passionfruit smoothie), appetizer (chicken soup, salad, or papa la Huancaina), and main course (chicken or vegetarian chaufa, pesto pasta, chicken saltado, chicharrón wings, or BBQ wings). I had the passionfruit smoothie, papa a la Huancaina (a typical Peruvian appetizer of cold boiled potatoes topped with a creamy sauce made of yellow pepper, cheese, and crackers), and chicken saltado (chicken stir-fried with tomatoes and onions, served with French fries and rice). Food was tasty. Portions were generous and good value for the âmenu del dia.â Other a la carte items are pricier. The location is nice. There is an outdoor seating area facing the lagoon, with a great view of the dunes. The waiters didnât speak English but were very friendly. Wifi is free and works great. We will be back tomorrow for lunch.

Quick solo lunch in mid-Apr-2019.I was starving when I arrived in Ica from Nazca around lunch time, since I hadnât eaten anything since dinner the previous evening (I did the Nazca sightseeing flight that morning, and then took the bus to Ica straight after). The onboard WiFi on the Cruz del Sur coach predictably stopped working when the second or third person connected to it (the fourth person on the bus was an older lady happily watching the onboard screen, so she couldnât have been the culprit), so I wasnât quite sure where to eat.I did vaguely remember the El Cordon y La Rosa name from my previous research, so headed there. The lunchtime crowd was all local, and I took that as a good sign. Plus, the restaurant looked much better than all of the questionable-looking local eateries I passed on my way there.I was promptly shown to a table & although the friendly waitress didnât speak much English, she did manage to understand my Spanish. I ordered the Lomo Saltado Primo (S/.45), and asked for it to be cooked medium. There is a non-primo version for S/.35, but I didnât ask about the difference. The food arrived reasonably quickly & my heart sank when I saw it... because obviously, carbs had found me!! The lomo saltado is served with plain rice & a generous helping of potato fries. Despite my initial disappointment, I found myself shamelessly polishing everything off the plate (I left some of the onions because, you know... carbs... he he...). And it wasnât just because I was starving - the lomo saltado tasted good.I paid in cash, and was happy to add a tip.In short, El Cordon y La Rosa is good value for a hearty meal and friendly service. And, given the limited options in Ica, it is a good choice.

We went over here to wait for our bus to our next destination. Meanwhile we'd ordered some cocktails, they we're looking funny and the taste was very good! Friendly people and nice chilling spots in their garden. Very relaxing loungesets in the sun! We recommend this restaurant to other travellers who are looking for a good place with a nice vibe.
