Restaurant El Redil is located at the Plaza de Armas in busy Cajamarca. The restaurant has a no-nonsense atmosphere and focuses on adequate service. El Redil offers à -la-carte South American food. Service is quick and friendly. We stayed next door at Hotel Casona del Inca and we didnât fancy walking around for a restaurant. Moreover El Redil was fully booked with locals, a good sign. We went for grilled steaks with fries and salad and the the steaks were excellent. We found that the choice for drinks and deserts is limited. For anyone who seeks good food and want to dine in a lively ambiance, El Redil is the place for you. Recommended.

I enjoyed this place around the corner from where we stayed. Unfortunately, they had no fish (it's over 1/2 the menu) and we found out after they did not take Visa! Those were 2 snags but what we did order that was available was delicious, and if you want to have the biggest mound of meat you can eat, this is your place!! I would recomm end for a meal. Has a real local feel that I enjoyed.

Comida tÃpica criolla - Regional -Internacional.
We went to Las Tullpas feeling very hungry at around 5pm and the restaurant was empty. We ordered two dishes and one of them (mine) was not available. After having watched the unimpressive waiter and activity (or lack of it) in the kitchen I decided that I did not want to eat there after all and asked my husband if he wanted to go somewhere else, but as he was starving he decided to stay. He ordered a "green soup", which was served surprisingly pretty quickly. Unfortunately it was not good at all, flavorless, just very watery, and full of eggshells. My husband, not wanting to make a fuss, ate the soup nonetheless but decided to tell the waiter about the eggshells so that the same would't happen to other customers. And the waiter just laughed, didn't apologize or anything, merely laughed. Well that is what I would consider awful customer service. The only positive thing was that my dish was not available and that I ended up not eating here! Don't go!

Went here for breakfast twice & lunch. Very good home cooked foods from the region. I had the americano breakfast scrambled eggs with diced ham light fluffy eggs made very well. The fresh juice delicious! For lunch I had truchia (rainbow trout) baked with tomatoes & onions the fish flaked apart & was well presented on a platter (whole fish) very busy at all times. Will repeat again!

After having eaten at many different restaurants around the world both luxury and budget I have but one recommendation, search for those which have almost no bad grades! I have recently started applying this and that is how I found this restaurant. Instead of looking blindly at the total grades and going for number 1 I decided to go for the first restaurant which had almost no bad grades and what a treat!Service: Excellent and fast, very friendly staffLocation: Only one block from the plazaFood: Delicious food, large variety of different hamburgers and salsasPrice: Incredibly low pricesOn the down side, it can get a bid crowded from around 7.30 pm. Try to get there a bit earlier if you want a table (it is a bit small, perhaps 6-7 small tables). But the staff will be happy to let you wait for a table and order at the bar.

After several months travelling through SA we can say that this restaurants experience was a highlight! The quality was very good, made with passion, served with a smile in a nice atmosphere! All that you get for very fair prices. Usually I donât eat that much meat but here I felt save and the burger I got was incredibly delicious!! Check out the size of the piece burgermeat, it was huge! The pumpkin soup we shared was great as well and so was the salad. Highly recommended! When in Cajamarca you have to come to this great restaurant.

Modern Peruvian cuisine focused on local produce
This restaurant forms part of the hotel Wyndham Costa del Sol, Cajamarca. We didn't stay at the hotel but we had two meals (lunch and dinner) in the restaurant. It is perfectly situated on the corner of the Plaza de Armas with huge windows so that you can sit and watch the world go by. The food was very good and staff were friendly and attentive. Very enjoyable and highly recommended.
