Reviews on Persian food in Muscat Governorate, Oman. The Omani city of Muscat is predominantly populated by Islamic Arabs, though it also has a sizable, non-resident Indian population, further rounded out by American, British and Dutch citizens. Muscat is a tolerant and progressive city, where English speakers are relatively common. Arrange fares beforehand if seeing the city by taxi. To explore further, consider renting a car. Don't miss the imposing Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, atmospheric Old Muttrah Souk, Al Alam Royal Palace or Al Jalali Fort.

Experience classical Persian cuisine and authentic fine dining shaped by centuries of culinary artistry. Feel the warmth of Iranian hospitality at Muscats finest Persian restaurant, Shiraz. Outdoor seating available.
I attended a dinner organised as part of a business trip in Shiraz. It was the first time there. Great outdoor setting overlooking the sea, friendly service, good drinks (including wine list) and a very attractive menu. As a group we decided to go for a sharing platter. Starters were nice and the grilled meat and fish very tasty. There was also plenty for vegetarians and the dessert to finish thins off with went down well. Definitely, a place to come back to.Dear AncoM3,Thank you for taking the time to review Shiraz restaurant.I am very happy to hear that our food and beverage offerings and that our service and setting contributed to your experience. We look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel in the near future.Warm Regards,Christophe PerringerardDirector of Food and Beverage

Who we are Shandiz restaurants are originally based in a countryside called Shandiz nearby Mashhad in northeast of Iran. The area is mostly recognized in Iran and World by its food especially the Shishlik Kebab (Shish Kebab). Why choose us Shandiz restaur
Excellent persian dining experience. Weâre from Switzerland and spent a few days in Muscat, trying all kinds of different cuisines. Trying iranian food had been a bucket list item for a long time. Shandiz was lovely. Very attentive service, cosy ambient and nicely decorated. Very friendly and kind wait staff that was happy to explain about the food and traditions. Their speciality are grilled meats with safron rice, which we had and loved (flavourful and juicy), after a number of starters such as a chicken soup, and tasty aubergine and joghurt dip with traditional bread, salads. Finished off with some black tea and dates. Definitely recommended, and we will hopefully have an opportunity to return. THank you for the nice dinner.

While I am far from a scholar on Persian food, my wife is Iranian and loves to eat authentic food when the opportunity arises. This is our second trip to Shabestan and she was suitably impressed. The Kubidah and Safron rice was perfect. The various dishes served to us were delicious and we look forward to going back next time we are in Muscat!

I've been here a couple of times as it is easy walking distance from the Hyatt hotel. You are greeted with a warm welcome and this restaurant is quiet and relaxed. The service continues to be attentive, with plenty of suggestions for options. There is an extensive menu for both food and drinks. Although I believe the restaurant is dry the options for juices etc is very extensive. The grills and rice dishes are superb. I believe this restaurant is a little over looked and is deserving of a little more attention - it has the reputation of being the best Iranian restaurant in Muscat.
