The geographical heart of England, Birmingham started life as a sixth- century Anglo-Saxon village. Today, much of this city of over a million dates back to post-WWII redevelopment in the 1950s and 60s. Cutting edge museums and galleries, innovative theaters and excellent shopping have contributed to Birmingham's appeal as a weekend break destination. Don't miss the hopping bars and cafes of Gas Street Basin or the fascinating creatures at the National Sea Life Centre.

This is one restaurant we frequently visit. Good food, quick service and turnaround, movenpick icecream. What more can you ask for. Don't expect a great dining experience. It's usually quite crowded, especially over the weekends. Decor is minimal, service, politeness and courtesy are to the point. But when you want to catch a movie in an hour and also want good food, you can't go wrong with this. Achari Gobi, Paneer Makhani, Daal Makhani, Garlic naan, cheese and onion kulcha etc. are our usuals. Ziafat has served us a number of times, very happy with his services. Food is a bit oily at times, but taste is authentic unlike some other pretend desi restaurants where curries taste sweeter and naans go chewy in 26 seconds. Not here

Had some business acquaintances visit from India, the home of the curry. Impressing these guys is no easy feat. Arrived on a Friday evening where the restaurant was very busy. A nice family environment along with a calming atmosphere. My guests were very well received by front of house and helped with their choices as their is subtle differences with what they have over there. What I will say is that they were definitely impressed. Despite the fact it was busy, the service was excellent and the food faultless, with a reasonable bill at the end. Would definitely recommend Akram’s. Thank you so much for taking time to review Akrams restaurant reviews such as yours inspire us at Akrams to continue to deliver the best dinning experience for our customers We look forward to seeing you again Ifty & Team Akrams

We decided to visit this restaurant on the basis I was feeling some Indian and my wife wanted some pasta. I dont think i know of any other place that boasts the best of these 2 cuisines. For midweek at 9 there was only one table besides us, 2 men who were drunk. Prices here are reasonable. We tried the sheekh kebab starter which was delicious which the cooked onions. The poppadoms almost had a stale taste, no mango chutney was offered, we had to ask and was charged for this, its standard to have it everywhere else. The 2 mains were £10 each being the lasagne which lacked real taste and I could tell was not made fresh. The spaghetti meat was ok, again doubt the meat was cooked fresh. Overall with that main items on the menu, as Ramsey says, it’s way too much and how can they cook everything fresh. I see the aim in trying to capture both the markets, but quality for the Italian wasn’t there. The decor is nice however a big place with no customers leaves always alarm bells ringing.

I visited this place as it was recommended to me. The place has lovely decor and looked nice inside but that’s about it. Didn’t enjoy the meal. The waitress didn’t seem professional as she had stains up her shirt. Ordered mocktails which came in milkshake glasses.
