Great place for a lunch. Amazingly tasty burgers, traditional norwegian food, baguette sandwiches, cakes and pastry. Good coffee. Worth visiting in Kirkenes. Cafe is located in the Spareland shopping center, between Kiwi and Sparkjop. Not far from Hurtigruten pier. Only 5 Min to walk.

HÃYLOFTET RESTAURANT is one of the restaurants of the Kirkenes Snowhotel, located in Kirkenes, a small and attractive Norwegian town especially during the winter time and close to the Russian border. The restaurant offers a lovely ambiance perfectly suited to the region and to the entire hotel. Vigorous and visible beams in its structure, sheep skin chairs, rough furniture and a very large panoramic window. We have enjoyed this ambient before being served very tasty typical meals. We emphasize the reindeer meat and the king crab soup.

We enjoyed breakfast and dinner here and both were good but not exceptional. Dinner came first and while the booths were dated, the meals were well presented and generous. A mix of traditional Norwegian dishes (with specials to suit the Christmas season) and traditional favourites. The breakfast buffet was generous and extensive and easily met our needs. Prices were very reasonable and service was good. I suggest that you need to temper your expectations to the fact that you are almost as far north as you can get in Kirkenes so donât go expecting big city flair.

Several colleagues enjoyed a very nice three course dinner at this modern restaurant downtown Kirkenes. Tasty fish soup, perfect halibut and sweet desert- all accompanied by good white wine and coffee. Our Latvian waiter also made it a funny experience. Didnât pay my self, so canât comment price level. But food was great anyhow!

We had a wonderful experience at the restaurant. Casual dinner in a comfortable environment. Our server went far beyond his expertise and assisted us with very difficult specialized dinner. They are open and helping vegan customers make choices. The food was very delish. Presentation was lovely. We had cod which was cooked perfectly; it was soft and flaky. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

My sister is lactose-intolerant and does not eat reindeer, and the chef was able to create an incredible meal for us on short notice. The food was delicious, the views were impeccable, and the hospitality was just beyond good. We did not get the reindeer, and the chef still gave me a sampling of it to try. We had salmon with pasta, and lactose-free ice cream with cloudberries for dessert. YUM. We had a wonderful evening here, and would recommend visiting - just make sure you ask ahead of time if the restaurant is open.Dear Kelsey S! We are very pleased that you like our place!
