Reviews on Northern-Italian food in Sestri Levante, Liguria, Italy. Sestri Levante (Latin: Segesta Tigullorum/Segesta Tigulliorum) is a town and comune in Liguria, Italy. Lying on the Mediterranean Sea, it is approximately 56 kilometres (35 mi) south of Genoa and is set on a promontory. While nearby Portofino and the Cinque Terre are probably the best-known tourist destinations on the Italian Riviera, Sestri Levante is becoming quite a favorite among Italians. This once quiet fishing village is slowly turning into a tourist hotspot, developing an old and a new town.

We spent two evenings there. Both wonderful. Youâll find a lot of fish and seafood - including pasta with seafood (looked really good, especially the baked spaghetti coming in aluminium foil). They also have pizza and take away.We chose from the daily menu which varies a lot. Antipasti: We tried the Thun Carpaccio, the Polpo de la Lanterna (a spicy polpo salad) and the fried gambas. All good.Mains: Baked Fish a la ligure. Very good. Polpo, pan-fried, with herbs and tomatoes and the grilled Thun as a main - I could die for those. Both were amazing. Our waitress was lovely and helped us with the menu.Highly recommend that restaurant. Busy place.

Minus: staff completely unorganized, cheap foreigners. Left two times frustrated without tip.Plus: location great at the bay, very wonderful when weather permits. Food choice limited but dishes surprise with quality and presentation. The crudo di mare is wonderful, my fish (ombrina) presented in perfection. If only these useless waiters would not spoil all. Second best modern cuisine after Balin, but much more atmosphere.

Last night with two colleagues we chose this restaurant based on its TripAdvisor ranking. Canât say about the better ranked but this could definitely run for the podium (first three). Donât spend too long on the printed menu but have the waitress tell you the menu of the day and lean on her recommendations. You wonât regret. Tartare di ricciola, linguine allâastice and rombo and monkfish were our choices and the desserts were all superb. I wish I could return tonight. I cannot but I will for sure in the future.

It is a good sign already, that most assessments are in Italian. We came as tourists and were greeted friendly, no complaints about ordering only one plate per person and drinking no wine.Congratulations to the cuisine, we loved everything we tasted and can especially recommend the desserts (see the picture of my meringue pie and the apple pie was even better).Grazie per la positiva recensione ,per Noi i Clienti sia Italiani che Stranieri sono tutti molto importanti , anche se mangiano un solo piatto e un dolce . Grazie di aver scelto il Tannino.Vittorio e il Suo Staff.

Le Gardenie has a reasonably priced menu covering pizza, pasta, main dishes and a great selection of desserts. The staff were very attentive and helpful. There is covered seating outside with heaters giving a cosy atmosphere. Recommended.

The perfect place to relax for pre-dinner drinks/aperitivi, Ligurian dishes including a selection for vegan and vegeterians and after dinner lounge bar. Some evenings live piano music.
Ate here on on next to last night and ended up again the next night. Very friendly hosts with food a step up from the mass produced meals at most of the tourist restaurants. Lovely wine and the quality of the food is top notch. Recommend the tuna with herb crumb and the beef cheek ( but not together )Very nice! Thank you so much

We dropped by for lunch and ordered the lunch menu: for 13 euros 2 courses of your choice and wine. We had some kind of seafood salad, zucchini omlette, seafood lasagna and one more thing I still couldn't identify but tasted great. The service was so friendly that we felt like home :) only the food was way better. I also appretiate the no plastic policy of the place. Overall a lovely experience, would return anytime, thank you!

A HISTORIC MANOR of the end of '800 facing the sea : location for exclusive EVENTS , new RESTAURANT
We were staying at the Grand Bristol hotel in Rapallo end of September 2016 and the weather was excellent so walking about we passed the Villa twice a day for 4 days before we worked out how to get to it as their signage was a bit lacking - but eventually went into the communal park and found the entrance gate! So glad we did. It is an oasis of calm away from the bustle and traffic of downtown Rapallo and simply stunning views from the terrace. Very romantic and nicely furnished.Had dinner and then came back for our last holiday lunch. Both times the service was attentive and the food excellent. Enjoyed the risotto with strawberries and the sea bass baked in salt - well cooked and not overdone as sadly it can be.Overall it is a cut above any other restaurant in Rapallo and we would thoroughly recommend seeking it out if you are staying in or near Rapallo.
