I was in this Cascina with a friends for a sunday lunch.Well, everything was how I've expected, a great and suggestive location, friendly ambient and absolutely good food. of course if you're going to a place like that you can't expect to find a service and the food typical of starred restaurant. The price was ok.

This is one of the oldest (1993) and most sophisticated farm holiday and dining locations around Milan. It's quite close to town, less tha an hour's drive on the South-Western side, and very well refurbished. In fact it is a completely renovated set of buildings, as nice as the nicest farm hotel in Tuscany, with spa-wellness, meeting centre, hotel rooms, a restaurant and this simpler "bistrot". It does have cows in sight, has maintained the overall structure and looks of a traditional "cascina" farm house - just very thoroughly cleaned up and kept. The bistrot itself is in a building in the main courtyard, with few tables under a veranda and a dozen within a single large room with welcome and mild air conditioning, if it gets noisy with patrons' voices when busy.We had a three-courses meal, accurately served and kindly, if a bit slowly - two hours overall. We liked very much ravioli stuffed with carp fish, with a simple molten butter sauce: both fish and butter were great, and the dough was tasty. Mixed cold cuts were pleasant, while risotto with sturgeon and lemon zest was very good if a bit less done than I like it. Second courses were ok: we choose simple pork ribs and sausages, both grilled while taking out fat - with beer and sugar for the ribs, which was quite pleasant if less compelling than first courses. A tagliata beef steak was similarly good. Desserts were also good - a chocolate and a meringue pudding. With plenty of bottled water, two glasses of wine and coffee the bill added up to a bit over 36 Euro per person: reasonable for a good lunch in a quite sophisticated place, consistent with the fact this is an elegant restaurant in a farm environment, rather than a farm where tourists can come and eat.

it is worth the nightly trip from Milan to have a very good traditional dinner with a touch of fantasy, outstanding ingredients and very nice dehors in hot seasons...tables under a beautiful vine.I guess you should avoid being there Friday or Saturday night to have more attention, but that's obvious.

Found by chance whilst driving along the Naviglio, we entered and found a very pleasant surprise. A totally refurbished old building had simple but tasteful tables and general décor; managed by a group of young men, they offer delicious local recipes at a very reasonable price. The food was lovely, the service informal and friendly, the choice of wine good and tempting. Local recipes are a must there.

This restaurant changed its name from La Morosina to La Grancia di Morimondo, but I don't know why! Maybe because it has a new management, or it was recently restructured... Go figure! The fact is that I had lunch with my family there last weekend and in general it was a good experience. The place is nice, and the food is okay. I had a Polenta with Gorgonzola that was pretty good, although the other dishes served were just average. In this place there's also a micro Brewery that produces a good craft beer. So, if you're not really looking for a high gastronomy restaurant, this can be a good place for your break.Buon appetito!
