UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT - 5 AUGUST 2017: We are excited to revitalise Cafe Sandspit, an absolutely amazing, little cafe, that offers spectacular views over the Hauraki Gulf. Situated at Sandspit Wharf, we are conveniently located to Kawau Cruises, so drop in
On the tip of Sandspit next to the wharf sits this café. The large windows face out to sea and you can watch the gannets diving and the boats coming and going. The fish of the day was snapper that had been caught that morning so lunch was an easy choice. Mind you the other choices on the menu did provide some hesitation. We were not disappointed. Lunch was yummy and we stretched to share an apple pie to follow. The pastry was excellent and filling very good. The café was comfortable and roomy with free newspapers. A nice place to spend time and watch the world go by.

We had the 5 course degustation dinner on Saturday night. The only thing we would've skipped was cheese souffle, but that is personal preference nothing to do with the way it was cooked (neither of us like cheese souffle). The service was outstanding and I would definitely go back and recommend to others.Thank you Lee-Ann - we are so sorry to read about the Cheese Souffle - but next time please do remember to tell us in advance if there is anything you dislike and we would definitely offer you something else instead! It would entirely be our pleasure!Do look forward to seeing you again, soon!

The Kumara Hash, French toast and coffee is always amazing. They have options available for many different dietary requirements which is always useful. The staff are always friendly and the relaxed, welcoming environment makes it such a nice place to meet for lunch or a coffee.

Our favourite cafe while we were camping at Martin's Bay. The food was good quality. Selection of cabinet as well as menu. Coffee was top notch. Cottage garden surroundings peaceful. Peanut butter (made on site) is a winner. Buy a jar to take away. Prices are very reasonable. Staff v. friendly.

We stopped at Ransom for a decadent lunch on our honeymoon and we were not dissapointed. The winery is stunning, inside and out. It's elegant but not so much that it makes you uncomfortable. We ordered their signature platter and 2 tasting paddles. The platter blew us away. It was pricey but after seeing it and devouring the entire thing, I have to say it was money well spent. The manager was friendly and very accommodating of our 2 year old, giving her a high chair and colouring-in textas. Overall, hands down it was the best winery dining experience we have both ever had and we've had at least 50. 10/10.... a must do!

Overlooking the river in the heart of Warkworth, Wharf Street Bistro is a Charismatic eatery serving heart warming food. The decor is intimate and warm or you can relax and enjoy a cocktail on the sunny balcony. Our highly acclaimed menu includes fresh se
We arrived without a reservation on a Thursday evening and found the dining room quite well occupied yet not too busy. We took a table at the window but as it was dark by this time we were only able to imagine the view of the adjacent wharf. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. We chose the Lamb Shoulder and the Smoked Brisket Tacos both of which were very good. We had wine by the glass. Cost was very reasonable. We were en route North from Auckland and were delighted to find such a good spot to replenish our stomachs and our energy levels. Definitely a restaurant to visit again when a chance arises.

Stopped for lunch on a rainy cold day . Fires were lit and staff greeted us with smiles . Although quite busy the staff had time to explain the menu and give ideas on a wine that would match our choices . Food was delicious and the portions were huge . We will be back

Award Winning cafeteria and chocolaterie. A Kiwi styled menu, just like our nanas used to bake: home-made cabinet food and specialty drinks. Next door in the Chocolaterie are hand-made chocolates, British sweets, Dutch licorice, Kiwi lollies, and gourmet
The speed of customer turnover and the numbers inside are the start of a good experience. This place is busy but the wait is short and the staff very friendly. We stopped for a bite to eat and a coffee, both exceeded expectations. Espresso was just right and if anything shows up a barista, its a poorly drawn espresso in a cold or large cup. This place has baristas that know their job and deliver a great product. They would teach a few other places!Good range of food and for the GF eaters, plenty to choose from.Woo Hoo! Thanks so much for the feedback, it's great to know that the hard work and training and coaching is working. I'll pass your comments onto the team. We really appreciate your feedback, and your lovely rating - pop in and make yourselves known next time - we love to make new friends! Susan
