Best pub in Glenavy a wee country pub just off the main highway, we have exciting menu and a great environment for entertainment. The center for community actives in the area.
Sophie makes the best coffee. The food is tasty and fresh. Yummy carrot cake and scones. There are always people here, with lots of different seating arrangements from bar stools to couches in the window.
I stopped for breakfast and what looked like a roadside diner. The classic Kiwi country-side cafe. A truck was parked in front of me and I decided if the local truckies stopped there the food must be good.I ordered bacon and eggs and a cup of tea and wasn't disappointed. It was good basic fare and plenty of it. I'd recommend this place if you have stayed the night in Timaru and are heading south. They had all the usual cafe-style take-away food on offer as well.
We are the 'sister' Fish n Chip shop to the Award winning Naked Chip ( proud to be the 2013 & 2017 & 2019 REGIONAL BEST CHIP Award winners} - providing the same high quality of produce and service. Our Food where possible is cooked with the Freshest Fish
A nice meal. The fish was especially good and fresh, but much smaller than we get in Christchurch. The kumara chips were also good, but slightly underdone. Will wrapped and included a piece of lemon. Not at all greasy. Would definitely return.

We were camping in the Waitaki Valley and decided to head to Waimate to do a bush walk. As our arrival was at lunchtime and not knowing where to head I always check on trip advisor. We loved our meal at the Harvest bar and kitchen. 3 of us had the fresh blue cod and hubby had the buttermilk chicken salad. The fish was indeed fresh and the chicken very moist and tasty. The girls that served us were very friendly and attentive and gave us information on the restaurant and it's beginnings 2 yrs ago. The restaurant has an inside and outside playground for children. the mains were approx $18 - $22. Art is displayed and for sale on the walls. The retaurant is a car drive of about 5 minutes from the main town up the hill and our outside seating gave us a great view over the town and valley. Highly recommend.Thank you so much for taking the time to review us! We really appreciate it.

Had drinks and dinner at the Makikihi Pub with friends. Good atmosphere in the bar. Good selection of drinks, and the food was excellent. Generous portions at very reasonable prices. Excellent service by the waitress who had a busy evening, but found time to chat to us and make us feel welcome.

We were traveling with friends and decided to try the vines for lunch. The views were great and the food was better. It was a lovely sunny day so we were able to sit outside. I shared polenta chips and lemon squid with my wife. Beautiful...I would thoroughly recommend the vines to anyone who is in the area.So pleased you enjoyed the Vines Experience.

Stopped off, and was wowed by the cabinet of delicious looking food. Staff took some time to take our order as they were busy chatting. When the food came it was so disappointing. We had smoked salmon bagels, for some reason they had cooked them!? So the bagel was dry and hard, the cream cheese had disappeared and the salmon was dry and very very salty. Staff were busy cleaning and we felt, unapproachable, unfriendly, and rude! So as beautiful as the cabinets may look I would not return and certainly wouldn't recommend. Very disappointing!
