We came here for an 80th birthday party. The food was extremely slow to arrive and the waiters kept making empty promises as to when we would receive the dishes. When the food finally arrived, it was bland and lacking in flavour and spice. I can only imagine they are trying to cater to a Western palate. Won't be coming back here again.Dear krisThank you for taking extra time to write .Let me explain readers about the situation of your table please if I may so.Very simple-1) your booking was from 6:30 whereas first lots about 8 of you arrived at 6:45 after wards and again you had to wait rest of your party for extra 15 minutes. That means you started to make late yourself from your side without letting us know as you did not value our time.2) you were advised itâs a long delay as was started from your side and the restaurant was very busy. Even you had said your self good food needs to be cooked properly. As proper cooking takes more time than microwave.3) I were checking about the expectations of your food myself NUMEROUS TIMES and your FIRM answer was about the food above the expectations. If you would like to remember , you were asked about the quality of the food and your answer was above your expectations.Dear browsers, kindly advise us if we can improve on this.NOW if you wanted to give us the constructive feedback you could have given at those occasions but you preferred to pull us back as you did not wanted to be looked after properly. Apology for our decency.Sincerely yours

Good curry house, the selection of dishes are Nepalese and quite different to a traditional curry house in terms of the menu which might need a bit of pondering if you are new to Nepalese food. The chicken curry I had was very good, service good, it was busy on a Tuesday night so seems to be a popular destination,

My son and I had a mid week evening meal here and very much enjoyed the freshly cooked, very tasty food. The restaurant seems to be quite popular and quite a few tables were occupied for a usually quiet Tuesday evening. The waiter was courteous, friendly and helpful. We liked the authenticity of the restaurant and will be going back.

4 of us dropped in on Saturday night for our 8 oâclock reservation and we were shown to our table. So far so good. The waiting staff were courteous and friendly, if a little stressed. The restaurant was packed so a short wait before we were asked if we wanted to order drinks was not unreasonable. Our drinks arrived and we asked if we could order, having had time (whilst the drinks were coming) to comprehensively review the menu. We were told someone would be with us shortly to take our order. After a further 10 minute wait, our order was taken. By now, we had been seated for 30 minutes. Our starters arrived within 10 minutes, not so bad and they were ok. I generally find when eating out in Fleet, it is best to manage expectations significantly downwards. Our plates were taken away and then followed a 30 minute delay before our mains arrived. Our friends had chosen the vegan options but my wife went for the lamb and I went for the chicken, both chefâs specials. Two bowls arrived brimming with dark brown slop. Out of my half litre of slop (similar in texture to a rage) I picked out 7 very small nuggets of pre cooked chicken tikka which was thoroughly dried out. The lamb dish was no better. Maybe the kitchen was having a bad night but I shanât be returning to find out. The manager, when challenged (very politely by my wife) about the less than awful restaurant experience we had endured, reduced our bill by 25%. In summary, the Kathmandu has successfully sunk to the level of the other Fleet eateries who depend upon punters who are either drunk or have never eaten at a decent restaurant. But having said all that, the hand dryer in the loo was excellent, so not all bad eh?Hello.Thank you for providing us with some feedback.I am sorry to see that you are unhappy with the service and the food. I have to say it has taken us with a little surprise. As a restaurant, we have been getting non-stop 5-star feedback for quite a while so this is definitely out of the ordinary. In regards to the waiting time of the food, if you were to mention to the staff on arrival that you were in a hurry then we would have ensured we made your food quicker. However, this isn't something that we can foresee as most customers want time between each part of their meal to chat, relax and enjoy their time out. It's not a problem, we just need to be made aware.Once again, if you were unhappy about the food that you had received we would expect a customer to let a member of staff know immediately so that we can work out exactly what the problem is and fix it. Not towards the end of the meal. I cannot comment on the specifics of your meal without knowing exactly what you ate.I am normally the first one to say that we could have done better, but on this occasion, I believe that we were not at fault and I think that if anything, the manager overcompensated for problems that you didn't mention to us as/or before they occurred. If you have any further questions or comments, please don't hesitate to give us a call and ask to speak to me.Thanks,GeorgeTeam Kathmandu

Gurkha Inn is a fine dining restaurant located in Fleet, Hampshire. We offer authentic Nepalese, Indian and Indo-Chinese selections in a relaxed and contemporary setting. Moreover, we can host private events and parties for up to 200 guests.
Visited with business colleagues while entertaining clients on a Thursday night.Based on TA reviews was expecting great things...the venue is very nice both external/internally with stylish decor & spacious however alas, thatâs as good as it got.It wasnât overly busy however service was incredibly slow taking orders, delivering food & clearing dishes. Trying to be gracious, I can only assume they were short staffed? Failing that it was tactical seeking to get more drinks orders?! Food was a very mixed bag, some dishes were very good...mixed grill very poorly cooked indeed. Wonât return...disappointing.
