Went to this Turkish restaurant for the first time. We were not very 'up' on the Turkish etiquette so we ordered some meze and a few other bits as starters ...big mistake :-) As soon as you order they bring complimentary plates of houmous, tzatziki mixed salad and copious amounts of pitta bread. By the time the starters arrived we were already stuffed. But it is amazing how much food you can pack inside when it as delicious as Aksular make it.The restaurant is very crowded (Saturday night) and noisy but if you can put up with that then this is a worthwhile visit

Joined Trip Advisor recently. So here is a new review for an old favourite. Ive eaten in and taken away from The Silver Jubilee since 2002. The food is excellent. Very little has changed in those years. It doesn't need to. Why are their Doner kebabs so good? Ive been educated on this. Those whitey/light brown Doner's are pre made with low quality cuts of meat in a lot of Kebab shops. It is much cheaper to make a kebab that way. Just checked. They can be bought frozen also. Disgusting. The Doner's at the Silver Jubilee are made fresh every day with British Lamb. Look at the Doner on the griller and see the difference. The quality of the meat and taste are so much better. Unfortunately the price is slightly higher also. But well worth the extra. You get what you pay for. We moved a while ago so haven't been for a while. Had some last night on the way home on M25. Stopped off to get 2 large Doner kebabs and the big chunky chips as take away.Enough food for 3 easily. Absolutely delicious. First class. Still as good as ever. Thank you.To clarifyThe inside information on the differences of the the humble Doner Kebab came from the owners son. He worked for me in sales around 2006/2007. I will never eat the pre made ever again.

We had a very good meal in this popular local Turkish eatery. Even on a Wednesday evening the place was very busy - so, book? Service is a mix of very pleasant and rather grumpy depending, we sensed, on the level of English spoken by waiters; service was a touch slow overall. Really tasty food and generously sized portions; reasonable prices, too.

The Lebanese food here is great. We had the mezze platter to share; the lamb shank and grilled lamb cutlets as mains and both delicious and enormous. I would highly recommend the hummus and the smoky aubergine dip. Loved the beautiful interior & the DJ brought good vibes to our night.
