Ten minutes back from the seething bling-fest that is the harbour-front and its immediate surroundings, you will find Iki Tek Ocakbasi in an unassuming side street. With a menu that offers more servings of raki than main dishes it wonât take you long to choose. Mezzes are proffered on a tray and served with warm pitta and a dressed salad. Sis are cooked to order; generous and served with barbecued vegetables and more bread. Tea and coffee were complimentary. A genuine Turkish welcome, lovely food and excellent vfm.

Two of us had lunch here, and the food was excellent, although there was way too much of it! Chicken doner with all the trimmings, and chicken shish again with all the trimmings only cost the equivalent of â¬10. The meat was moist and tasty. Only small complaint is that the chips were cold.
