The name Hoeilaart is of Gallic-Celtic origin, coming from "Ho-Lar," meaning a high clearing in the woods. Residents are called Hoeilanders or Doenders. The municipality only comprises the town of Hoeilaart proper. On January 1, 2006, Hoeilaart had a total population of 10,074. The total area is 20.43 km² which gives a population density of 493 inhabitants per km². Hoeilaart also sometimes called "The Glass Village" because of the greenhouse grape cultivation that once took place.

Great Frech-Moroccan fusion food at a very correct price. Two brothers running the restaurant with great enthusiasm. Everything (everything!) is home made. It is a bit of the beaten track in the Cimetiere neighbourhood - go find it, it is worth the 2 min. extra walk!

Great restaurant: We had a couple of mezze, which were tasty and nicely presented; the main dishes (a mix of grilled meats) were even better, the meat was of great quality, the seasoning and the sides were absolutely delicious; service was very friendly and they really made us feel at home; good price quality ratio too; should I ever be around La Hulpe, I will be back!

Perfect restaurant, so classy , fabulous, delicious, organised, extremely hygienic, give their best, and always warm us with a kind friendly and absolutely welcoming smile. The food is wonderful on both sides, and what I mean is the following: I got to experience not only a delicious and yummy taste of food, but also I had the chance to place my sight on several artistic paintings made out of lebanese mezas served on dishes which I really find very attractive, and a genious way to grab my attention. Plus, they use really high quality of food. Mazaj keeps on surprising me everytime I visit. Keep it up!! Mazaj is the best !!!
