Home for the holidays... and craving Mexican food. We went to lunch at Jose's and it was exactly what I needed. Real, fresh ingredients and authentic recipes and flavors. Enchiladas were awesome and the rice and beans were exactly what I'd been missing. I'll eat there again and would recommend Jose's to other first-time patrons. No disappointment there.

The good news first: excellent Mexican fare -- the enchiladas, rice and beans were delicious -- it's been a while since I've had Mexican food that tasted homemade. Their margaritias are the perfect blend of tequila and mix. The wait time for a Friday night at prime time was reasonable (less than 15 minutes). Now for the bad: Avoid the fish tacos. I asked the waitress what type of fish was used for the dish. "Mahi-Mahi." I asked her if it was fresh or frozen. "Of course, it's fresh," was her reply. When I bit into the fish taco, it had a very decided fishy taste -- definitely not the mild taste that mahi-mahi usually has. Truly a disappointment. The annoying: my friend and I were no more than 50% done with our dinner -- forks in hand, talking and eating. A server came up and asked us if we wanted boxes for our leftovers. We pointed that we were still eating. Not 2 minutes later, another server came and asked us if we wanted boxes (mind you, we were still eating). And it continued -- we were asked at least 6 times if we needed a box -- while we were still eating! I wasn't sure whether to be amused or annoyed. It was very distracting to be interrupted while we ate. Mind you, we weren't hogging the table; we were eating at a normal pace. Would I go back? Yeah, I'd give them another chance, especially if I had a hankering for enchiladas and margaritas. But, I'd avoid the fish tacos. At least I know that I wouldn't have any problems getting a box to go if I needed one.

Used to go to this restaurant many times a week. We knew all the waitresses, the food was really good, and it was just a quick go to place for good food at reasonable prices. I don't know if they had a change of ownership but the last several times we have gone the food quality was extremely poor. They didn't have all the ingredients for one item and yet served it to us anyhow with no discount and treated us like we were horrible for asking about it. The new waitresses, we believe, are either inexperienced and/or do not want to serve the customers well. We have decided La Mexicana is a memory.

El Mexicano in Oak Glen was a nice place. We ate inside becausse it was too chilly outside, but during warmer weather, the patio and outside dining would be really nice. They had a great wood burning fire going on inside so we ate by the fire. Service was good, the food was excellent!

I've been going to Rosie's for a long time, but this time was unbelievably good! Huge, generous portions of meat, homemade tortillas, refills on soda, fast service, etc. The garbage burrito is simply the best on the menu! They now have two locations, one in Yucaipa and the other in Calimesa.

Second time visiting in less than a month. Very friendly staff. Food is good and inexpensive. Both visits wee on Friday night which is busy. Make reservations if you have a large part. Trio plays music those evenings and is pretty versatileand very talented. Will make this a regular spot.
Second time here , and my best visit . Now first off this place was pretty clean and neat . Large enough for a big groups . It was cold and was in the mood for menudo . Glad I came here . It was a good size bowl with all the fixings . Got full on just half and it was pretty good . Hard to find good menudo other than homemade . I would most assured be back to this place for same dish . They have a fairly ample menu , but cannot coment on anything else .

This was my third time at La Fuentes. First two visits were disappointments, food sub-par. The most recent visit the food was better. I ordered ala carte (grilled chicken burrito $9) because the main offerings are overpriced. Most combinations are $15-$19. Why pay more for rice and beans. Ambience was good, service was noticeably unwelcoming. Not many smiles.

We, a group of friends and spouses - eight of us, had gone for a weekday lunch to Arteaga's in Yucaipa. Parking is available in front of the restaurant, in the adjacent lot and across the road. Being in a group, the wait-staff joined two tables together to accommodate all of us. We started with a round of coffee and then ordered for our personal favorites from a variety of dishes in the menu. Some of the dishes we had were Steak Plate, Cerdo Chimichanga, Chicken Quesadilla, Taquitos and for dessert we had Flan-Caramel Custard and Ice cream sundae which had mini-choco chimichangas. The wait-staff was polite, friendly and efficient. The freshly prepared food was flavorful and tasty. All of us had an enjoyable and satisfying meal.
