Large portions, very tasty dishes. The usual selections you would expect. Margaritas were fresh and flavorful. Nice outdoor seating along the river.

We are the leading Yakima Mexican Restaurant winning awards and recognition throughout the Northwest. Santiago's is Yakima's favorite restaurant to have been published within Northwest Best Places... And for over three decades of continuous recognition. W
A group of us went to Santiagos for dinner after a meeting and what a delightful experience. The wait staff was busy but we were never neglected. The server had a great personality, looked like she enjoyed her work and was very knowledgeable about all the items (and there were a lot) on the menu. When the food came, most of us couldn't believe the portions. One look and you might was well ask for a box for take home. I had the chicken chalupa and it was excellent and only $10.99.

Opened our doors in March of 2008, Serving the most authentic Mexican dishes in Yakima Try the Famous Mole de Oaxaca Made in House. Our most popular Carne Azada! And of course the Best Margaritas in Yakima!!
They normally have some good deals on some adult beverages as well and they are normally larger size. I had the Chicken Mole with rice and no beans. Very large portion of rice and the chicken and mole sauce was delicious...thank you. Located in the old Skippers location in Yakima on Nob Hill near the corner of 24th and Nob Hill. Open late and a great place to go for after dinner drinks.
Driving on Christmas day with only gas station fare available, I took an exit (Exit 34, Nob Hill Blvd) looking for gas. Imagine my surprise to find a Mexican grocery open with fabulous deli/lunch counter food available! Fresh burritos, tamales, enchiladas all being made with traditional meats right before our eyes-cheap!!!-delicious-fresh-friendly-I'll stop there againAnd fresh tortillas, too!

There were no clean tables, the kitchen looked dirty and disorderly and the very limited menu was only in Spanish. We turned around and walked out. Maybe the food is good, but I even asked them to clean off a table... nothing happened. So we left.
I'm keeping my promise to the wonderful couple who own and operate this food truck: 5 stars for 5 salsas! And yes, they do offer 5 different homemade salsas. Not only were the steak tacos great--wonderfully seasoned meat with no gristle and fresh chopped cilantro and onions (among others) condiments--and my lovely wife and I got them on the 2 for $5 deal, the two salsas I tried were dynamite. The first one was called Los...and the second word started with a P. They warned me it was spicy and it sure was that. And also delicious. But, embarrassingly, the other salsa I tried and loved was called Grandma's Salsa. But darn it was so flavorful and delicious. Both salsas were better than any salsa I've been served in a brick-and-mortar Mexican restaurant. The couple are not only sweethearts--they're the real deal. As the 5 stars indicate, highly recommended.

When more than half of the cliental are local Hispanics, it says something. Promptly greeted and served chips and salsa - free!! Good food though not outstanding. Franky's welcoming, effusive manner mad the meal for us. And he was BUSY handling other tables inside and out on the patio.
The place is in a strip shopping center and looks like it could be less than clean. But I was hungry for tacos and took a chance. They made the corn tortillas right when I ordered -which was a delightful and delicious surprise. The menu offers a huge variety for customizing your order and I had three various meats on the corn tortilla. All the meats were flavorful and not full of fatty substances. The toppings were fresh and the hot salsa was particularly good. Relatively fast given the made to order nature of the place.

Wonderful Place To Eat!
Portions are huge and it tastes great. We got a variety of things from kids quesadilla and grilled cheese to fajitas and the like. We got a few drinks also. Everything was delicious. Service was fast and friendly. If you're hankering for Mexican food this is the place to go.

Trying to find somewhere to stop for a quick bit on the way to Oregon and found great article about Los Hernandez tamales. It's in a small building that's hard to miss, but worth the stop. Some tamales are dry, but these are NOT! The asparagus ones are so amazing, I ended up buying frozen ones to take home with me. I also loved their green salsa to go with them.
