We have been to Tuxpan twice and have eaten at Wendy's more than anywhere else. It was originally recommended when we asked our hotel manager where he goes to eat.If you are going for comida during the weekend there might be a line, but it is worth the wait. All the dishes we have tried (both fish and seafood) have been fresh and cooked to perfection. Favorites include the robalete enchipotlado and the sopa de mariscos gratinadas. For dessert, the fried sweet plantain is great. The wait staff is very attentive and courteous even when the place is packed. They have live music in the afternoon. If you can get a riverfront table, the view is fantastic - ducks, seagulls, and pelicans all fishing. Once, we saw an osprey.Next time we come to Tuxpan, we will definitely be going back to Wendy's.
You should order the Desayuno Chilolos. They bring you like 5 different dishes and natural fruit beverage. If you finish anything and want more, its on the house. Everything is delicious.

This is the best place to have sea food in town. It is not the faciest but it is the best in flavor and staff. The prices are ok and the food is perfect.

I was staying at the Holiday Inn down the street a ways, and asked the girl at the front desk which was her favorite place to eat in Tuxpan. This was where she sent us, and it was a gem! The traffic outside the hotel at five was daunting so we took a cab for a very reasonable 35 pesos. We were very early by Mexican standards and had our choice of tables. We opted to sit overlooking the river as the view was lovely as it was getting near sundown. I had the 'catch of the day' prepared with fresh pineapple, and Carla had Huauchinango con Ajo. Both were excellent!, and the vistas out over the river were stunning, The taxi ride back to the hotel gave me a laugh when the driver asked for 60 pesos. Carla called him a 'pinche cabron' and gave him 35 with no tip!

We knew it was a good sign when we entered the restaurant and saw it was popular with the locals. The seafood dishes were well portioned and reasonably priced. The seafood was fresh and while the dishes were simply prepared everything was delicious. I highly recommend the mixed seafood plate that came with a little bit of everything (shrimp, crab, octopus, oysters and shrimp). We skipped the oysters and they happily exchanged the oysters for shrimp. We would have eaten here again if we had discovered the restaurant sooner.
